One day of a double dose probably won't harm you, however if you have any of these symptoms go to the er.
Hi Kaismama, you didn't include symptoms. According to my endocrinologist it will not be a problem. Only if repeated for days would it do so. Then it would drive the TSH too low after a few weeks. These are slow interactions. I wish they were quick because I wouldn't have to wait six weeks for a change. Well my med one pill per week to see if there is a change. At six weeks we do the blood test. Then we added one more. Another six weeks and we are good. That is three months for a change. Thought you should know.
Whoops, here they are
Overdose symptoms may include chest pain, pounding heartbeats, tremors, shortness of breath, leg cramps, confusion, vomiting, diarrhea, or seizures.
Nothing. It is not an issue. Take your next pill as usual. An occasional extra pill will make little difference. When I have had to increase my dose it takes weeks for that extra pill per week to take effect. One slip has very little effect. All will be fine. However, it is always wise to put any medication in a weekly pill box so that errors are not made and memory need not be relyed upon. We all forget from time to time and this is a very easy way to keep track.
Stay well. Be free to ask other questions if you have them.
