It should be fine just so long as you draw the line there, and give it at least 6-hours before considering taking anything else.

I was also informed give 2 hours between taking one or the other, is that good advice?

If it was the prescribing physician then yes, it is good advice, otherwise if the person doesn't know the pharmacology or have the chart, well...

Anyway, 6-hours is a safe interval based on the question.
