You took a chance it could have got a lot worse. First of all, never on your own, increased dosage; without realizing the consequences involved. Anytime you increased or decreased any prescribed medication(s) you have to give both body and mind time to readjust.
Can I share something, it took a long time for me to realize, we too can play a part in controlling our mood swings, panic attacks, paranoia, and the list goes on. I began going down memory lane with my depression, trying to find the core of my pain. Once with the help of my inner self, one by one, my frustration with myself began to wane. My consumption of anti-depressant medication has decreased. Before I was taking 20mg, now it's 10mg. In the morning, I take vitamins, whose primarily objective is to support/increase/strengthen our norepinephrine(neurotransmitter in the brain) This part of the central nervous system, is where we can become stressful, fearful, paranoid, emotional, happy, contempt relaxed and angry. In the evening before going to bed, I take Valerian and Ashwagandha.
By me combating my reasons for my depression, I have better control of my behavior.
Now, let me make it perfectly clear, always, rely on your physician; I just believe in additional assistance the natural way.
Good Luck
Hi, Kassa!
If you were doing good but not great on the 50mg you're probably right that an increase in dosage is indicated. The problem is that when you increase your dose you usually have a recurrence of anxiety disorders which generally lasts about 2-3 weeks as you adjust to the new dose... and you're doubling it.
Have you spoken with your doctor about your progress and gotten their opinion? Another option might be increasing more gradually... you might want to ask about using 25mg for a short while. I believe there's also a liquid formulation that would make it easy to adjust the mgs you're taking.
I do think it will get better with time!
No I have not spoke to doctors yet I had a google about what I was feeling and came across this site so thought I would ask people in similar situations also I did not no they do a liquid one that could be an option and yes I think I would rather be taking 25mg then the 50 as don’t feel to great I will ask my doctor about that thankyou just want the ongoing same thoughts to stop ruining my life !
No kidding!!!
Best of luck to you.
Please forgive me if I am mistaken but I think wildcat was suggesting increasing your dose by 25mg to 75mg rather than decreasing to 25mg. It is a smaller increase than your current 100mg and May reduce the side effects. If you are feeling ok on 50mg it might not be a good idea to decrease that. Once again, apology if I’m wrong.
I was feeling slightly better but I felt taking up a higher does might help me more but if I don’t need anymore and that’s what I should of stuck to 50mg not sure what will happen if it will mess everything up I have decreased it by 25mg for now so taking 75
I’m in a similar situation, I’m currently taking 50mg sertraline ( three months) but just feeling ok. I’m wondering if upping my dose to 75mg would help. I’m just scared about going through side effects again in doing that.
