Can a 10mg Zolpidem Tartrate Tablet be cut in half to equal 5 mg, if the 10mg dose is to high ?

Hi Katie. As long as they aren't the XR~extended release then yes you can cut them in half. I do it all the time with my Dr's consent. Take care.
Yes, you can cut it in half as long as it is not an extended release tablet.
I started using 1/2 (5)mg before bedtime and the other half around midnight, and seems to work very well for me
They are coated and not scored so they cannot be cut.

If you need 5mg of zolpidem you can ask the doctor for a prescription.
Normally the doctor doesn't recommend cutting pills in half.
