For Pain "I fell over a year ago and have had chronic back pain ever since. I have bulging discs in L3,4 and 5, degenerating discs, and spinal stenosis. I have tried Norco, which no longer works. I recently tried Nucynta (no pain relief and very tired side effects), so I am sticking with the Opana. Overall it does a pretty good job with pain. I just feel like my tolerance is building up over the 9 or so months I have been taking it. I take 20 ER first thing in the morning, and 10 mg IR one or two more times during the day. I still take Norco for breakthrough pain, but even that doesn't seem to touch the pain anymore... I recommend Opana for pain relief and I can still work with a clear head!"

For Pain "I am permanently disabled due to brain surgery leaving me with a condition called occipital neuralgia (headaches 24/7). Opana is a wonder drug for me. I tried every single other treatment I could find, from physical cures, psychological cures, to every other narcotic available. It is now time for me to get off of the drug because my body has finally become used to this pain enough where I hope that I do not need drugs for the rest of my life. Right now I am taking Opana 40mg ER X 4 = 160mg ER and Opana 10mg X 4 = 40mg per day. My total Opana consumption daily is 200mg. I just finally got up enough guts to ask my doctor to cut my dosage back so I am going to try to cut the Opana 40mg ER down to Opana 30mg ER X 4 = 120mg ER."

For Pain "Opana 20mg doesn't take away all the neck & back pain but does about 90% so I can function. However also for first time in my life gives me headaches, hot flashes, warm blooded 4-5 of 7 days a wk & slightly edgey/difficulty with stress/adversity sometimes too."

For Pain "Opana is a great pain killer but relief lasts only 4-5 hours. One has to take another pain killer such as hydrocodone in conjunction with Opana. Also, Opana cost me $400 a month for sixty 60mg pills. My doctor switched me to Morphine-sulfate. I'll let you know how I go on this medicine."

For Pain "I was currently taking Exalgo 12 mg 1 daily and 2 mg Dilaudid 2 daily. It started not to work so my doctor put me on Opana 40 mg 2 daily and kept my Dilaudid. So far taking Opana is great, it last long enough to take my second dose and I couldnt be happier. "

For Pain "Find the use of these to be easy to take, and has been very helpful to me. I have had no side effects, other than the 12 hour ends a little bit less than this! Have found that taking them at 12 hour intervals has not been quite right. I see that sometimes I have a little less than 12 hour help, and other times have gone 14 to 15 hours and been fine. Depends on digestion maybe. Urinalysis showed the rate in my body to be less sometimes and not sure why? Do know that while I was sick with the flu, I wasn't able to keep down these, and did have side effects of withdrawals."

For Pain "Just started taking 5 mg twice a day. Doesn't seem to last as long as the doctor said it would. Also the 5mg doesn't take the pain away. It does ease it a little. So on my next visit I will tell the doctor her calculation was off. Think I would do better on 20mg twice daily. Also if she could give me something else to advance my stool and make it softer. That pain is worse than the knee pain."

For Pain "Seems to be working okay. The buzz is calming after taking for 2 weeks. I'll not take morning dose if I have to function during the day. Does help with chronic back/cervical/knee pain. Side effects are easier than Morphine. That made me irritable and didn't touch the pain."

For Pain "I have been taking Opana 30mg since last month and it is a very effective drug. It has given me relief that lasts, usually 12 to 18 hours, which is something that my Vicodin 10 had stopped doing. Occasionally I will take one and for maybe an hour or two I will feel relief and then NOTHING, usually I will go back and take another one and it will work. I read somewhere that sometimes they go directly through your system without working. What I really like about the medication is that I am mobile, upright and able to go about my day without feeling drugged and cloudy. The only downside is the cost, 20 pills were $220.00 and 56 were almost $600. Currently, I have a $40. co-pay on insurance, but soon my insurance will be terminated."

For Pain "I just got out of the hospital and I'm in excruciating pain. The surgeon took out my hip implants and broke my femur . I have antibiotic spacers and balls put in. I was on a baseline of fentanyl plus 100 mcg every 6 minutes via PCA on top of a 250 mcg patch and 45 mg oxycodone every 3 hours and 40 mgs of Oxycontin every 8 hours. Also, Ketamine spray every 2 hours. I was released with in adequate medication and my PM doc put me on 30 mg of Opana every 3 hours."

For Pain "I'm going to be very much to the point I had a physician that retired I began seeing a new physician after searching for a physician I was comfortable with I was continued being prescribed oxycodone ER 2-30mg tab 3x a day with 4mg hydromorphone with each dose The Physician referred me to pain management pain management change meds two 100 mg oxycodone ER that is one 40 mg & one 60 mg. & 80mg oxycodone 2x day & 8mg hydromorphone every 8 hrs with each dose. Then pain management switch me to oxymorphone 40mg every 12 hours & 8mg hydromorphone with each dose. Why is this is not working why? Should I go back on 100mg sulfate morphine tablet ER and 8mg hydromorphone 3x a day. Oxymorphone is new to me all the other meds I've been on over 10 years"

For Pain "I have been on Opana about three weeks now for severe, chronic pain. I used to be on 60mg of Oxy-Contin and I took the first dose prior to getting ready to leave for work, after that I would spend the next 10-20 minutes vomiting. Opana doesn't do that to me in a 20mg dose and I find the pain relief much more lasting and comfortable. The only medicine I ever took better than Opana for chronic pain relief was the once a day ,now defunct Pallodan."

For Pain "I have a severe lower spine injury. Opana was the only medicine that would allow me to live a normal life. Now the only thing that's available is hydrocodone acetaminophen 10-325. I get a hundred per month but it does not help. I only wish opana was back on the market. It allowed me to live an almost normal life instead of the restricted constant recliner handicap I live with now."

For Pain "If I could have afford it, I would still be on it! Since I suffer from Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction (Hepatic region) my Doctor felt that this medicine would really help since it is already broken down causing a major decrease in possible liver damage from daily, major pain relief. It worked really well, but it would have been way over $200 a month."

For Pain "My doctor recently sent me to a pain management doctor to help control pain while recovering from my third knee surgery. Unfortunately, there will probably be a fourth surgery in the next 7 months for a complete replacement. I had constant pain while relaxing on the couch and extreme pain while walking which caused other pain in my whole body due to not being able to walk correctly. My doctor had me on Tramadol 50 mg 3-4 times a day which didn't take the pain away it only took the edge off but did nothing for the extreme walking pain. My new pain doctor prescribed Opana ER 5mg twice a day, Tramadol 50mg 1-2 pills 3 times a day as needed and Neurontin for night-time burning pain. Only side effect is slight morning headache. Opana ER is awesome."

For Pain "20 mg ER dosage does very little for pain stemming from my degenerative cervical and lumbar spinal discs. One tablet gives me only about two hours of relief. I am going to ask my doctor to put me back on 80 mg Oxycodone, regardless of the outrageous price."
