This is a wonderful pain pill. I tore my sacroiliac and could barely walk because of the pain. I have a high tolerance for pain medications and have tried pretty much everything and this one surpassed everything I tried and I had no side effects.

I have been taking 4 of the 40mg for about two years, because it works better than anything else I have had, and that is every other narcotic, for my spondilolisthesis. It kills the pain and I can work like a 20 year old and do everything I want, but without it, I feel like the 48 year old I am. I highly recommend this pain medicine to anyone with chronic pain. I would much rather take these than have bone fusion surgery.

Was on Oxycontin 160mg every 12 hours for 4 years and had tried Opana at same dose last year WITHOUT BEING TOLD TAKE ON EMPTY STOMACH, so when my new doctor changed me at first I was scared and skeptical, however 25 days on 40mg Opana every 12 hours ON EMPTY TUMMY and I am AMAZED. I believe if we increase daytime dose a tad I will feel better than I have in 18 years, so anyone who didn't have a good experience with it needs to think if they ate with it. My doctor said if there is ANY food in your stomach the food absorbs part of it and it doesn't get in your system as well and it WILL NOT WORK FOR THE 12 HOURS IT SHOULD. I saw people making both statements so I hope this will help others.

I have had a lot of back pain for a few years but since my doctor has put me on Opana I have never felt better. I can go about my life without the worry of being in so much pain at the end of the day. What a relief it has been. A pure God send.

This is one of the best drugs I have taken. I am able to do things I need to do. I can walk and clean house. Before taking Opana all I could do was lay on the couch. I have rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia and Hepatitis C. This is the only drug that has ever helped me.

Before Opana, I was taking 100mg Morphine 3x daily for my lower back pain from a bulging disc at L5-S1. The pain relief from the Opana is better than any other pain medication that I have tried.

Been on fentanyl patches for 3+ years now. Wear 2 50mcg patches. Recently started on Opana er 20mg twice a day and only wearing 1 patch changed every 48 hours. Pain level has gone up slightly but also side effects from the patch have decreased which to me for now is a acceptable trade off. Breakthrough pain occurs sooner, but have not tried the higher dosage yet. Have somewhat raised expectations to come off patches by end of the year.

Currently taking 2 x 10mg ER and up to 4 x 5mg IR. Tolerance has developed quickly, what used to take the pain away only half way dulls it now. My doctor is not convinced of my pain, I have asked for more but he without coming right out and saying no has refused me increased dosage. My advice is even though Opana works well initially, you will develop tolerance rapidly and require more in order to provide pain relief. I do have several bulging discs but for some reason my doctor does not see this as cause to increase the dose, only continue the same dose that I began with about 9 months ago. Sorry for the rant but it may be something you might have not considered if I had not brought it up. From what I have gathered from independent research of Opana and Oxycodone, Opana has the greatest tolerance increase potential between the two.

The doctor's instructions were to take 1-2-or 3 tablets at bedtime for cervical pain. I tried 3 on 3 different evenings and, unfortunately, had absolutely no pain relief. I also tried for pain in hip and thigh with no results. (I do have a very high pain threshold and, consequentially, need strong pain meds). Haven't yet found drug for pain relief at night.

This medicine has been very effective however it doesn't last the full 12 hours of pain relief as it is prescribed. For me it lasts about 8 hours. I did get horrible constipation so stay hydrated. Never flush unused drugs down the toilet. It can severely effect fish and other animals along the watershed. Water treatment plants do not treat for disposed drugs.

I have Lupus, arthritis and had most of my back crushed in a auto accident. Opana is the ONLY pain medication that has relieved a majority of my pain throughout the day. I take 40mg every 8 hours and I am able to walk around and do things I couldn't do before when I was on the patches and all the other drugs I tried. Opana is the best long term medication that keeps working without fail for me.

Doctor had me on 100mg morphine er 2 x a day, the side effects were really bad. He put me on Opana ER 40mg 2 x a day and Opana IR 5 mg for break through pain its the best pain med ever been on. I have spinal stenosis degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis. Was in terrible pain before Opana now at least I can stand to be alive again.

Love it! Nothing better, works wonders for chronic migraines and arthritis plus it gets me back on my feet as if I was a teen again. Gives me the little boost needed to get me through my day with limited side effects. I would recommend doctors prescribe this medicine over any other narcotic pain killers. This pill has really saved my life. It's truly amazing.

I was on 200 mcg of Fentanyl Patchs, and 100mg of MS Contin 3 times a day and 30mgs of MSIR (instant release morphine) 3 times a day for almost 7 years for these horrible migraines I have constantly. These medicines were not helping anymore after being on them for so long. About 6 months ago I changed doctors who switched me to Opana ER. I am taking 80mgs every 12 hours along with 600mcg Fentora 3 times a day for breakthrough pain. I have not had any side effects from the Opana at all which is wonderful and I can function daily and not be laid up in bed constantly. I would definitely recommend Opana ER but just think about something for breakthrough pain in case it is needed.

Opana is the only thing that can help me sleep through the night when I have serious pain.

Opana has worked better than anything I have been prescribed. I have several bulging discs, 4 in the lower back and 4 mid back. I was taking 3000 milligrams of Vicodin daily, 8 to 10 x 325 mg tabs. Now, I take 2, 20 milligram Opana daily, and only 2 or 3 Vicodin as needed. Be sure to take Opana on an empty stomach, and don't eat for about 2 hours. Opana is incredible, my next Doctor's visit, I will request a slightly higher dose, and quit the Vicodin all together. Thank you Opana!

I liked opana but my docoter put me back on oxycontin 60mgs. For the time I was on it, it worked really well for my pain. Its a great drug to be on if you need it.

I am permanently disabled due to brain surgery leaving me with a condition called occipital neuralgia (headaches 24/7). Opana is a wonder drug for me. I tried every single other treatment I could find, from physical cures, psychological cures, to every other narcotic available. It is now time for me to get off of the drug because my body has finally become used to this pain enough where I hope that I do not need drugs for the rest of my life. Right now I am taking Opana 40mg ER X 4 = 160mg ER and Opana 10mg X 4 = 40mg per day. My total Opana consumption daily is 200mg. I just finally got up enough guts to ask my doctor to cut my dosage back so I am going to try to cut the Opana 40mg ER down to Opana 30mg ER X 4 = 120mg ER.

I have been on Opana 20mg ER for almost a year now. I changed to Opana as my insurance would no longer cover the Oxycontin. It took my doctor almost 6 months to figure out a dose that was acceptable to me. Aside from occasional head sweats I like the Opana a lot. Every once in a while I experience night terrors, but do not know if they are related to the Opana or not. As far as my pain is concerned, they seem to do the job well, and I do not get the side effects that I got with the Oxycontin.

I have suffered with pain for many years and have tried almost everything. I started Opana in January of this year. In February my platlet count dropped to 3,000 with an equally low white count. This happened again in May. I have also had many gastrointestinal problems. The doctors after many tests can only say that Opana looks like the cause.

Opana is a great pain killer but relief lasts only 4-5 hours. One has to take another pain killer such as hydrocodone in conjunction with Opana. Also, Opana cost me $400 a month for sixty 60mg pills. My doctor switched me to Morphine-sulfate. I'll let you know how I go on this medicine.

Opana workes for a while for me but after a couple of weeks it just stops helping.

Works much better than the oxy's for my arthritis. I don't get such wicked side effects, either. The Opana winds me up but not nearly as much as the Oxycontins. Also, the hot flashes are nowhere close to what they were.

Have been taking 40mg Opana 2 x's/day for about 10 months now for a compressed disc/pinched nerve in my neck, chronic migraines and fibromyalgia. Opana SAVED MY LIFE! I was on 8 x 10mg Norco daily which was NOT working. We began Opana and I was able to gradually function almost normally again as a busy photographer and mother of 5! HOWEVER, lately, I have noticed increased breakthrough pain EVERYDAY, but am scared to ask my doctor about increasing my dosage for fear he'll REDUCE my dosage, and thoughts of me curled up in bed in pain again terrify me! Does anyone have any thoughts on this dosage? I KNOW it would help me regain my normal activities that have decreased. I want my LIFE back and Opana has TRULY enabled me to function productively up until now.

Made me feel like I had flu like symptoms.
