For Fatigue "I've been taking this medicine for over a year and so far its given me some energy I still have to drink it with coffee to get the full effects from the drug. I had ms since I was 18 and am now 34 the only thing I have so far is extreme tiredness so modafinil helps with that. id say its a pretty good medicine for tiredness and when you cant stay awake. it helps me get stuff done"

Provigil (modafinil) for Narcolepsy "Had no life at all except pain and overwhelming fatigue for 10 years. Visited many doctors with no help at all. I am a scientist began tracking medicines that were in the pipeline - came across Provigil, looked like it was the one for me. When it became available I was first in line. changed my life completely; I was normal again; I could produce again and did to a stunning degree. 3 weeks ago, after 8 years, Provigil completely stopped working. I know all the obvious reasons but makes no sense, I am again existing with no quality to go forward. Am manically changing to Adderall while I try to figure this out."

Provigil (modafinil) for ADHD "I've been using Provigil in combination with Wellbutrin for my adult ADD. I'm almost 50 and was just diagnosed 3 years ago. I tried the stimulants and like the way they helped my concentration and focus but I couldn't take them because of my high blood pressure. I've also tried Strattera which worked really well but again I couldn't deal with the side effects (not being able to urinate can be painful). Provigil really helps slow down my racing thoughts but it doesn't seem to help with my concentration or distract ability. I take it first thing in the morning and usually can't get to sleep until midnight or 1.00am. Luckily I work at home so that's not a real problem. I'm glad to see it's worked well for some of the others who have posted comments."

For Fatigue "Was prescribed Provigil in 2005 for MS fatigue, and Fibromyalgia fatigue and brain fog. Have always used the brand name. I take 200mg two times a day. This gives me 8 good hours of function. Recently switched to Generic. Cannot even compare to the brand name. Too bad the price is out of this world for such a wonder drug. It truly is a blessing! But who on earth can afford it!??"

For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome "I've been on this for well over a year (close to 2). I saw minimal improvement for cognitive issues/brain fog but it doesn't really help with fatigue (high dose magnesium did a lot more for my fatigue than moda). I'm on 300mg and I think there is a tendency for tolerance so maybe take it and when it starts to fade, cut back to a pill every other day for awhile and then go back to every day etc. It just needs boosts every so often. Better to be on it than not but the effect is minimal sadly for me"

For Depression "Modafinil is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. After taking several antidepressants, including Lexapro, Buspirone, Cymbalta, Trintellix, Lamictal, Celexa, Effexor, and Xanax, I have NEVER felt like myself, possibly even worse. I would sleep for hours to forget and slow down my raging thoughts, often in a dark room. I avoided socializing and lost touch with many of my friends. I had suicidal thoughts and felt hopeless. My psychiatrist didn't know where to turn. I'm a hairdresser, and luckily, I have a good friend and client who is a doctor. She told me about Modafinil and suggested I try it. At first, I was skeptical because so many other treatments had failed me. But oh boy, what a difference modafinil made! I feel more focused, energetic, and free from depression. It has shown me light at the end of the tunnel, and I am incredibly thankful for it."

For Depression "This review is targeted for those with a depression of a chronic, more severe and biological component as opposed to other forms. I have been prescribed many "treatments" over the years, none have worked, if anything made me feel worse. My symptoms are heavily focused on lack of reward, motivation, arousal and sensation to the whole body, low to no mood, heavy feeling inside head, lack of focus, clarity. I came across modafinil and felt different a good way unlike other medications. Half hour or so after I took it, I began to feel like my old self was coming back... I felt more alive, energized, more connected to the world, felt slightly more animate. The effects were weak but noticeable. No other medication comes close to making me feel this way. Unfortunately, the effects are temporary and stop when you don't take the drug so it's not exactly a cure (hence 9/10). Still however, something is better than nothing, I am happy this drug gives hope"

Provigil (modafinil) for Narcolepsy "I have Narcolepsy and I am currently taking 200mg twice daily and it barely works. My doctor added Ritalin 20mg twice daily and I have been on Ritalin for previous years until I moved to TX. In 2013, I was prescribed Vyvanse 70mg I believe. It didn't work better than the Ritalin or Adderall I tried while in TX. My doctor then prescribed Xyrem. Needless to say none of these drugs have provided adequate relief from daytime sleepiness. I started provigil in January 2016 and there's no change. I took provigil about 10 years ago and the same results. I need serious help because I barely function."

For Fatigue "I've been taking Modafinil 100mg daily for about 2 months now and it really helps me not feel tired during the day. I'm able to do more and feel the need to take naps and sleep 16 hours less. Before I take Modafinil in the morning, I feel quite tired and like I wanna go back to sleep for a long time, but once I take it, I'm better able to stay awake and more alert for longer periods of time. It usually wears off before I go to sleep too which is great and then I'm tired enough that I just fall right asleep at the end of the day"

Provigil (modafinil) for Narcolepsy "I took Provigil along with Adderall and felt the best ever. I was alert, not on too much Adderall so I didn't feel bad from that--Then my insurance company wouldn't cover Provigil any more, they pushed Nuvigil--it made me sleepier."

For Fatigue "I was prescribed Modafinil for daytime sleepiness. I don't take it regularly though as I think it would be too easy to lose track of your own natural body signals and then burn out. For me 100mg is fine when I need to concentrate on something boring on that day and am really sleepy, whether it is cleaning or reports for work. Sometimes I speak too much within the first few hours so it's better to limit social interactions until later in the day! The next day I feel clearer but won't have another one for at least a week. If I do then I have noticed it starts to feel quite horrible and doesn't have the same effect. Despite all of this once my Provigil runs out I won't get any more as I want to find a natural way to maintain energy if I can! I have been prescribed both a generic and the Provigil. For me the generic was better - I think it's just personal."

Provigil (modafinil) for Multiple Sclerosis "I was prescribed this medication to deal with the overwhelming fatigue that sometimes hits with Multiple Sclerosis. I am working full time, and cannot afford to be overly sleepy. I am very impressed with how it works. It stimulates me mentally, without creating the "hyper" physicality of a general stimulant like caffiene. I am able to take the medication on a when required basis - not more than 200 mg in a day - and it works great. Many days I do not take it at all. It has a long half-life, however."

For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome "Was prescribed armodafinil 150mg for chronic fatigue syndrome, at first I started off splitting it in half, which made me alert initially, but stopped being effective in a few days. I then tried taking the entire 150mg, which didn't make me alert, but gave me headaches, nausea, and made me very thirsty. Have been taking modafinil 100mg now for a couple of months, to varying degrees of success. I split the pills, take a half in mornings. I usually end up getting a headache by the late afternoon. On days where my fatigue is exacerbated, I avoid taking it as it leads to a huge headache for me. When I feel the headaches coming on, I know my productive day is over. I find that trying to power through the headaches leads to feeling terrible the next day, even if I take paracetamol. If modafinil had more of an affect on my fatigue, I could forgive the headaches and the price. But unfortunately it hasn't done much for me."

Provigil (modafinil) for Shift Work Sleep Disorder "Started night shift work again after being on days for 14 years. A friend told me about Provigil. Asked my doctor and got the prescription. Unbelievable! No drowsiness during the night, no spike and drop like caffeine or energy drinks, and fall right to sleep when I get ready to. I'm in the trucking industry and it's great."

For Depression "I selected depression but at this point I believe depression is a side effect to a larger Neurological issue and apnea. I was diagnosed with Depression years ago and after being put on tonnes of different medicines some of which were a nightmare I was upgraded to Bi-Polar. Along the way I gained about 100lbs and eventually ended up on a cocktail that included Seroquel which made me very sleepy all the time. I was initially given Provigil as a way to be awake during the day. It was a very positive improvement. After a while I was adjusted to Seroquel, Lamictal and Provigil, and it seemed to keep me stable but still lethargic. Eventually we tried lessening the Seroquel and eventually eliminated it. I am doing better than ever now for several years."

For Fatigue "I have had fatigue and brain fog for years now, so I decided to try modafinil. I took 100mg on my first day at 7:00am, by 8:00 I could feel my tiredness diminishing and went to work. It certainly gave me more motivation and focus but at the same time you feel slightly weird. You certainly know you have taken a drug and for me the slightly wired feeling is a little off putting. People leave comments claiming it's amazing etc but I feel people taking modafinil for the first time should take caution. On 100mg It was incredibly hard to sleep, my mind started cobbling together thought after thought of random things, anything but shutting down to sleep. I would recommended starting on 50mg, for me 100mg is too strong."

For ADHD "As a kid I was on Ritalin, without it I would have flunked. Once I reached my mid 20's the famed ADHD depression kicked in and I spent 10 years on anti-depressants. Work wise I "grew out" of my concentration problems, BUT it came back recently and I lost all focus. All I did at work was day dream for months. I code all day, and no this is not a magic pill to motivate you, you don't feel anything. Nothing at all..... BUT, I am sitting down at my desk and I'm typing. I still get distracted with the office chat and I don't get the unrelenting hyper focus others describe, but they helping. My mood is more level, dopamine is dopamine, my mood is neither up or down, or numb. I feel balanced but still like myself. I gave it 7 stars because my appetite vanishes and I get a dry mouth. When the effects subside I grow very hungry very quickly."

For Depression "After 3 months I quit taking Zoloft for depression after taking Modafinil. It gives me energy from chronic fatigue also. I'm a teacher and I also notice I'm much more alert and focused while taking it. I have mild bipolar 1 also and take Seroquel and Lamictal also. I can't detect any side effects unless I have to take it with my asthma inhaler as then it can cause shakiness, nervousness, sleeplessness, etc. Otherwise it's a great product! I found Zoloft to "numb" me to a degree--I didn't feel sad but I didn't feel happy either. Kind of desensitized."

For ADHD "Modafinil is quite useful and I have not experienced habit forming properties; this was a problem with all other ADHD medications I have been prescribed over the past 10 years. Although I also tried Strattera for three months prior to my starting Provigil. My only issue is that so far I have only been able to receive 200mg which only helps me until afternoon. I am in need of a large enough prescription so I can have an afternoon dose. Hopefully somehow my insurance can become convinced that this is necessary for my health."

For Depression "Been on modafinil for years, I originally took it for sleep apnea but the benefits for my depression are huge. I no longer have sleep apnea (had my tonsils removed) but still suffer from daytime sleepiness, my doctor agreed to keep me on modafinil as it helps so much. I recently stopped taking it for a while, I just kind of forgot and I couldn't make out why I was feeling so depressed then I remember I'd not been taking it. After 2 days of being back on it and I feel like a different person. No antidepressant ever really worked for me but this does. I hope my doctor never takes me off it."

Provigil (modafinil) for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome "I take 400mg/day for fatigue and mental fog. It helped a great deal although after 3 years it doesn't work as well as in the beginning. I started taking 200mg/day and it didn't help until I took it for 3 months. Increased to 300mg/day after 1 year and to 400mg/day after 2nd year."

Provigil (modafinil) for Narcolepsy "I tried to write a lot more, but the space is limited. I'd tried ADHD medicines and loading up with caffeine, but nothing seemed to work to manage my excessive sleep cycles. I stumbled across information on Provigil, and asked my doctor if I could try it. I was skeptical because I have eczema, and I have to be careful about the medications, foods, and external allergens I'm exposed to. I began at the lowest dose once/day, and increased to that twice a day after a year and a half, because it seemed the effectiveness was decreasing. I do take breaks from the meds, usually for a day or two, but I've had to for months (cost) and haven't experienced noticeable withdrawal symptoms, like with all the other chemicals."
