"It worked for 2 weeks, Rosacea cleared up on my cheeks, but hives arrived and severe itching. Stopped the medication and a cream is being called in but hives and itching must be addressed by my Derm quickly!"

"I have a history of Mixed Connective Tissue Disease and was recently prescribed Minocycline for Rosacea. After taking the med for 2 1/2 weeks I awakened with intense itching of my head, face, and scattered rash on my body. I stopped taking the Minocycline immediately and contacted my physician. It has been over 6 weeks and I am still experiencing intermittent rash on my stomach, thighs, back and also had one episode of bumps on the back of my tongue. But the most aggravating is constant redness, itching, and burning of my face. My physician told me to just keep taking Claritin and Benadryl if needed. I'm not sure how long this will last. But no more Minocycline for me."

Minocin (minocycline) "Had to take prednisone just to function. Doctors had no idea. Saw RA and internal medicine doctors. Got a liver biopsy. Stopped the minocycline on my own. None had any idea and dismissed me when I suggested the minocycline. Took about 3 months but if you look under minocycline toxicity you will see my symptoms nearly word for word. Finally told doctor to weaned me off prednisone to see how I feel. Now I’m fine. Tried some topical treatment dermatologist suggested and as soon as I noticed a drop in energy I stopped."

"Minocycline worked well for years for my rosacea. I noticed my fingernails were turning blue and I developed a bluish area across the back of my neck and over my lip. In doing some research and comparing pictures, I discovered that it was most likely a side effect of long-term Minocycline. I discontinued using it, and now I am having a considerable flare-up. I don't know what to do."

"I saw a dermo for what was diagnosed as rosacea and was put on every topical they had over a 3 month span. My skin got so bad from the pill (allergic reaction) and topical foam, Metrogel, Mirvasa that I was getting seriously depressed. I never had real bad skin I just got flushed in some stressful situations. Hey, I am in sales they are all stressful at the end of a quarter. The medications had me so messed up until I was referred to another highly recommended doctor. He took me off everything and put me on Solodyn. One pill a day, a little lotion, sunscreen. I am not sure if getting off the topical or using Solodyn or both was the answer, but I am getting back to normal. My NEW doctor said he could give me something for the flushing"
