"I have been taking Meloxicam for several months with very little relief from my Right shoulder osteoarthritis. It did very little for my Left shoulder issues either. My flare ups are quite severe. My orthopedic surgeon told me I will eventually have to have a shoulder replacement."

"My doc prescribed Naproxen for my arthritic knees and hip, which I found almost ineffective. I was looking for a cheaper alternative and she let me try Meloxicam. Wow! I don't have knee pain any more and the hip pain is 80% better, and at a much, much lower cost to me. Some people do better on one or the other, so if one is not working for you, ask your doc to try the other."

"I have had severe osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia pain for the past 5 years. I have been receiving steroid and Synvisc shots for several years. I had been taking up to 1600 mg of ibuprofen a day, even Vicoden did not help my pain. My new Doctor gave me a trial sample of meloxicam 7.5 mg. After taking 1 dose my pain and mobility improved dramatically. I have not been able to walk up the stairs without using both handrails in years. I cannot believe the results. It does bother my stomach a bit, but I take Protonix and take meloxicam only after eating. This medication has changed my life!"

"Got great relief after about 5 days. Don't know how I would have survived back spasms without it. To protect your gut from ulcers etc, you need to ask your doctor to also prescribe a drug called Nexium and take that in the morning and take the Mobic in the evening with food. Shame it is not good to take this drug long term though."

"I took one pill in the afternoon, and woke up the next morning with my whole face swollen. My doctor told me to take Benedryl, which I did for 24 hours. It's been 4 days, and the swelling is almost gone. I've been feeling funky all week. I don't recommend anyone take this. Ever."

"Not any observed difference in benefit between Meloxicam and Celebrex which I have taken for years. What I have noticed is MASSIVE HAIR LOSS. This happened to me when I was on Vioxx, another COX-2 inhibitor (before they took it off the market). Will be going back on Celebrex."

"I took it for several days expecting pain relief but it didn't do anything. My doctor told me I have osteoarthritis my pain is so bad that I literally cannot do anything, except lying down on my belly. I stop taking Meloxicam because was useless for my pain and it makes my stomach upset.I did better with Tylenol and homeopathic pills."

"Years ago I had terrible low back pain. MD suggested Mobic which worked great for several years. About 4-5 years ago I developed atrial fibrillation. My cardiologist told me to definitely get off the Mobic because a side effect is bleeding, so this would worsen the bleeding because one side effect of Xarelto (a blood thinner) is to thin my blood to avoid strokes. I just read on another site that Mobic can cause AFib. There is no way to know if the Mobic caused the AFib or it developed independently. I suspect the Mobic brought on the AFib, although I have no proof of that. I have been in excellent health. The 1-10 rating scale used above should not be used, because in my case the Mobic was very helpful but probably caused major side effect"

Mobic (meloxicam) "I was started on meloxicam 5 weeks ago for bone on bone osteoarthritis in both knees. NSAIDs and topicals and PT did not help. Now I can walk in the grocery store with much less pain and sleep without my knee pain waking me up. Well tolerated so far. I am hoping this will help delay a knee replacement. I am taking 15mg per day"

"I have been taking meloxicam since I had total knee replacement 6 yrs ago - works great for stiffness and pain. Originally doctor wanted me to take it for 6 months or so after surgery but it helped so much with arthritis in hands, feet, shoulders etc. he advised to keep taking it. Usually I have pretty sensitive stomach but no bothers with meloxicam."

"Prescribed for arthritic knee. Taking 7.5mg daily and my knee pain has gone . I also have diabetic nephropathy and my feet burn and tingle all the time. It was almost impossible to fall asleep, I stayed up late till I just couldn't stay up any longer. It's like a miracle happened. My foot pain has almost disappeared. My feet feel so much better. The tingling and burning have diminished from a 10 to a 1. Thank you I can't say enough."

"Can now live a normal life since I began taking it. I have Ostearthritis in my hands, feet, knees and back. The meloxicam has made it possible for me to move without pain and stiffness. Before taking it, I had such problems in moving at all. I am 46 and moved about as if I was 200 yrs old. Now, I move about like I did when I was 35. I am very glad my doctor prescribed it for myself."

"Hi all...I'm 7 months post-op from a total knee replacment @ the age of 53. I was taking Celebrex 2 years prior to my knee surgery.. My Doctor recently asked me to try the Mobic/ Meloxicam.. As the celebrex just seemed to not be effective enough to manage the pain, swelling/ inflammation.. I've been taking the meloxicam for 3 weeks now, and just wow... I've seen a tremendous difference with my knee in every aspect. For the first time in 7 months, I don't have to sleep with a pillow between my knees,to help relive the pain I have been experiencing still with the knee... The only side effect I've noticed is a disruption of my sleeping.. Which I take melatonin and solved that problem...Is it working for me??..Absolutely a miracle drug!!"

"I use it along with norco. Meloxicam does work for me. I take my daily norco across the hours of the day and then when there is still a significant gap in pain control, I take the Meloxicam and it does finish and fill the gap. For a few waking hours I feel sorta ok considering how busted up I am. Large back fusion, neck fusion OA with bone spurs in all the weight bearing joints. Trashed knee that bends all directions and now torn ligaments. Broke both wrists 2 years ago and it took over a year and a half for them to heal. They decided I have adult rickets too. Steroid injections help initially but will weaken the ligaments which now are rupturing."

"I have been suffering with osteoarthritis in both knees and hips, sleepless nights and anxiety when I have to move (especially after sitting a length of time). Meloxicam improved my pain and mobility in just a couple of days. I take 15mg every day and I am extremely thankful for this medicine!"

Mobic (meloxicam) "First one that I have found working for the pain and the inflammation in my knees, elbows, shoulders, etc. I am 36 and I was tested about three weeks ago, but before I was tested, I was already taking Mobic and it worked better than all the other medicines that I was taking for my arthritis. When my test come back it showed that I was full blown with arthritis and borderline rheumatoid arthritis. "

"I have tried a dozen different NSAIDs over the years and meloxicam, by far, is the best. Ibuprofen? Nothing. Naproxen? For a few hours on max dose. Meloxicam on a low dose? I'm good to play basketball for 2-3 days. I take it 2-3 times/week and life is much more enjoyable."

"I started taking this pill after 3 1/2 of total misery being in horrific pain. I saw a new doctor and he told me to try it. I had no confidence in that pill at all. 2 day's later I had absolutely no pain. What a feeling to not feel pain anymore! Worked for me I'm happy to say."

"I call Meloxicam my magic pill. I have moderate hip arthritis from years of wear and tear on my hip joint. Trying to hold off on THR. If I take a meloxicam before bed I wake up with no pain. I don't take it all the time, because of the long term use side effects. Only take when the inflammation is intense. It is cheaper than a cortisone injection. 7.5mg does the trick."

"Meloxicam is wonderful. Relieves pain. Decided to quit taking Meloxicam because I am diabetic. I have been taking Meloxicam for several years. Getting older and do not want to so many takes medicines. Osteoarthritis pain back within ten days. Terrible pain. But it is time to scale back on medications."

"Was experiencing increased pain from arthritis and also had tendonitis. Trigger finger as well. Pain started waking me at night so I said enough! Dr started me on 15mg and within 24 hrs I felt tremendous relief, inflammation in fingers gone, just overall great experience so far. Feel it has helped my mood just because I am not achy and in pain. Been taking just a couple of weeks, so we'll see how it holds up over time. For now, though, I feel great!"

"My husbands knee replacement failed 4 years ago. He has been taking Meloxicam ever since both knee replacements in 2015. He had rectal bleeding this summer and we went through a Cancer scare but after the colonoscopy the dr told him to try only taking the Meloxicam every other day, 1/2 a pill at the most. Now his osteoarthritis is showing him how bad off he really is. Last night he admitted to me that he had bleeding from rectum yesterday. His doctor told him no one has died from osteoarthritis but they have from internal bleeding. He also gained about 25 pounds since his knee replacements. That is when he started Meloxicam. I didn’t know weight gain is a side effect of this pill. He will lose his part time well paying job that he loves, our home because he won’t be able to do yard work and will be in so much pain, I am afraid he won’t really stop taking it. If you love your wife or husband - don’t ever start this pill.."

"At 44 years old, Meloxicam almost was the end of me. I had been having what were thought to be severe panic attacks with 180 bpm heart rates and 160/120 bp. episodes started happening daily. Little did I know, this drug in combination with Atenolol (bp med) was giving me near heart attacks by raising my potassium levels to the extreme. Discontinued today and starting to feel alive again. Be careful."

"Didn’t work. Generic Aleive works better in less than an hour. I stopped using Meloxicam because it is a useless drug. The interactions were never disclosed either. Bring back Arudis KT that stuff was awesome! Not to mention the ambulance trips because I was found unresponsive and had to be hospitalized with hypertension."
