"I will switch from vestura to this medication and ever since I have stomach ache all the time. I always have to eat something before I take it if I don't I will have the worst nausea and stomach pain. My acne got a little worst and I cramp when I get my period which it didn't happen with my other medication. Nikki is not so good"

"Haven’t taken Nikki YET but I’m Only here to see other women opinions/ experience with this BCP. I want it to work on my period I will have faith it will minimize my period to at least 1-4 days every other month lol. I dislike periods & menstrual cramping before and after my periods starts. I’m still using Sprintec only thing that it prevents is not getting me pregnant But I am an almost 30 year old woman with a high sex drive and I don’t want a AUNT FLO ruin it for me for 4-7 days on Sprintec. And what’s up with y’all with acne never had acne nor those other side effects. I take me Sprintec faithfully at 7:30pm-800pm so soon as I switch to Nikki I hope I get a finger cross moment and come back in a month or so. Oh yeah this is my first time ever using birth control 4 months ago in April of 2019."

"I started out taking Nikki after switch from a higher dose because I had bad mood swings. So we lowered it I now have this weird feeling on my left boob. I've had it for two months now. It comes and goes. Not sure what it is I have appointment coming up so. Bringing it to her attention and possibly changing"

"This medication made me feel moody, achy, tired, and I gained weight. Never have I struggled with birth control before, name brand or generic. This medication has sent me on a rollercoaster and after nearly 8 months it’s not levelled out. Why does the pharmacy just change on you with no good reason? It only gets more than a 1 because it has proven effective in its one job, the rest are horrible."

"This is the first ever BC pill I’ve been on. I’ve been taking it for 2.5 months. It makes me REALLY hungry, bloated, and has given me acne, which is something I’ve never dealt with before (even as a teenager). It’s also giving me stomachaches, and the I have some bleeding in between periods, which worries me because I feel like that throws off my cycle."

"I have been on this birth control Nikki for a week in a half. I have already developed cystic acne (from absolutely no acne ever), headaches & extreme hunger. I switched from Junel Fe hoping Nikki would help with my cramping & lightening my periods. I am already annoyed with this birth control, I will be switching as soon as possible."

"I was switched over to Nikki because my insurance covered all of it and I’m here for free birth control. But I would rather pay the $30 for my old birth control then get this for free. After switching my mood swings became noticeably worse, and my acne started acting up. I’m currently on my period on this brand and NOTHING is better. Birth control typically makes my period lighter and a lot easier to deal with, but my cramps are as bad as they are without the pill and I’m throwing up and have diarrhea which is normal for me when I’m not even on the pill. So all in all I’m just disappointed that I don’t feel any better, my acne came back, I’m way more emotional, and my period is horrible."

"I’ve only been on Nikki for two weeks and already experiencing a lot of uncomfortable side effects. The first and most noticeable was breast pain. Nikki has also caused severe bloating/water retention, depression, no sex drive, and mood swings. I don’t like how I’ve felt since being on this pill so I’m going to stop taking it. I would rather have my periods and normal PMS symptoms, as annoying as they are, than take this with all the side effects and not feel normal. The artificial hormones don’t work well for everyone. Another note—birth control can severely deplete your body of vital vitamins such as vitamin B. My sister was told her vitamin B levels were really low causing low energy and chronic fatigue. The doctor didn’t even tell her it was a common side effect of the birth control they just wanted to prescribe something else—do your research ladies!"

"Terrible. I’ve been on this pill for 3 months. I’ve only had about 1 week cumulative in those three months where I wasn’t spotting or bleeding. Terrible mood swings and depression. Extremely painful periods. I did not get pregnant, which means it did it’s job, but honestly there weren’t many occasions where there was a risk of getting pregnant lol. With constant heavy period and cramping there was hardly any desire to have sex. Worst birth control I’ve ever tried."

"I don't ever write reviews, but I had to share my experience with this birth control. This is my first time getting back on birth control in almost 2 years and a doctor prescribed me Nikki. I typically have pretty clear skin.. about one or two small pimples here & there, but within 3 days of me taking Nikki I ended up with two pimples on my back and three on my face. Within 4 days of taking Nikki, I also started to experience mood swings and depression. The emotional side effects from this birth control is not worth taking whatsoever. I found myself to be more irritable and emotional for the most ridiculous reasons & that isn't me. I was on it for ONLY 11 days & it was the worst birth control experience I've ever had. Please save yourself the time & pay a higher price for a better birth control."

"I’ve been on Gianvi for years. Loved it- and it worked perfect. I steadily was 115 pounds, 5’4”. A month, not even the entire full month into taking Nikki (our pharmacy stopped distributing Gianvi and supplemented for this)- I am now a whopping 143 pounds!! I am constantly cramping in my lower right quadrant. It’s unreal. I’m going off this on my own and talking to my OB next week. (I gave it a three month trial and thought it may take a few weeks to kick in — nope, it’s worse)."

"So, I got on Nikki because my periods have always been irregular I was on a low dose birth control before but it didn’t work at regulating my periods so I went and switched. Well I’ve been on Nikki for about 3 and a half weeks and I had to stop taking it. It made me extremely emotional I have been either crying or super angry for the time I’ve been on Nikki which is NOT common for me at all. On top of it I had gall bladder pain for about 4 days. I did not experience any cystic acne, and I am not sure how this birth control would have worked for my period. I just could not take it any more due to the feelings it was causing me."

"So before I was on Cyred EQ. for 4 months I switch to Nikki because of my cramps. So I notice my breasts got bigger, I gained 4 pounds in one month, my appetite is just omg I get hungry all the time. I have horrible mood swings, I watched the grinch movie that just came out I was sobbing because the grinch was being nice to his dog - I'm serious. This birth control is horrible didn't help my acne I noticed more when I got on Nikki. I feel so heavy. I'm switching on to Yaz ."

"This BC changed my life!! I was on Taytulla previously and it was awful (made me break out worse than ever before, long, horrid periods, etc). Nikki has made my skin clear so quickly, and I can go without makeup without feeling self conscious. My periods are still pretty heavy, but it synced up with the pill pretty quick and my cramps aren’t too bad. Feeling no nausea or weird pains either. :) Highly recommend."

"The birth control pill Nikki improved my acne significantly after only a month of use. I had previously taken Gianvi for many years, but discovered it was the cause of my depression. Following that I tried numerous other brands and they either worsened my acne or depression, sometimes both. Nikki is the only birth control pill I have found that does not trigger depression and has completely cleared my acne. However, I rate it at an 8 because I have had frequent light spotting in between periods and they are not as regular as they normally would be. Overall, this pill is a great option!"

"I was originally put on TriSprintec to help with acne and it made it severely worse so my doctor switched me to Nikki almost a month ago. I had slight nausea when on Tri Sprintec but now it's terrible and I can barely eat. I also get cramping and headaches."

"I’m going into my 3rd pack with Nikki birth control and I must say it has truly been a roller coaster. I recently got my tubes tied 3 years ago and I was prescribed Nikki to help regulate my cycle and help with my cystic acne. So far with my cycle it has definitely gotten better it’s just after my period I’m light spotting a while before the flow comes to a complete stop. Now as far as the acne I don’t know what to think. When I was on my second pack my face broke out so bad I just wanted to give up right then and there. I had gotten so many big red bumps and scarring on my face; the purging was horrible. Now that I’m on my third pack when I got my period I still broke out but it wasn't that bad so I’m hoping within the next few months my acne gets completely under control."

"I started Nikki just around 5 months ago and it works great for me! I began taking it for my extremely irregular periods and the more obvious reason. Since taking it, my acne has significantly cleared up and my period has become completely regular now, coming at the exact same time every month with minimal cramps. It's also free with my insurance. The only downsides are that I cry more easily now (although I've always been a sensitive person so that's pretty normal for me) and I have more frequent migraines, but I've always had migraines and I'm not sure if it's the pill that has caused that."

"Took Gianvi for years to regulate period, for acne and migraines and it always worked great. Then the pharmacy switched to Nikki and only 10 days in I think it is a horrible medication, I've become anxious, moody, have weight gain, acne and insomnia - it is horrible. Don't take this med."

"Made me break out severely to the point it took months of expensive skincare and getting off this pill to get my breakouts under control. I was literally breaking out in my cheeks which has never been a problem area for me. Every day there were new breakouts and not just little ones like cystic ones that hurt. I would never take this pill again."

"I was on this for about 3-4 years. The first year - two was great, I had clear skin and periods were fine, no depression. My Dr recommended this to help clear my acne. It did about that. EXCEPT, after 3 years I would get recurrent BV and yeast infections from antibiotics. Gyno had no idea why I kept getting so many. One at least every month! Break through bleeding that would happy for a week to a few days before my period. Zero sex drive. I finally stopped taking Nikki bc I couldnt stand bleeding for a week every month before I would get my actual period. It has been 2 months off it and I have no more break through bleeding. Although my first period off Nikki was extremely painful and heavy"

"Worked wonderfully the first few weeks. Right now is the time I usually PMS. Out of nowhere, I started feeling nothing like myself at all. Super horribly depressed, like I’ve never been before. I do like how it made me physically, I’m skinner and my chest got fuller, but I will be switching. I can do ANY symptom, just not the depression. It’s unbearable. I know sometimes it takes awhile for your body to adjust but I simply cannot do it"

"I️ was on this birth control in high school and ended up switching back to I️t in college. Everything was great. I️ has no side effects and my skin is flawless!! The only reason I️ am switching after being on I️t for about a year is I️ would experience spotting every two weeks-heavy enough where I️ would have to use a tampon. I️ am sad to be switching from this pill because I️ liked I️t a lot, but just cannot take having my period every 2 weeks. I️ think my body just may need a higher dose."

"So I was recommended for Nikki because my old birth control was very high in estrogen and it caused dryness and a lot of anxiety problems. Nikki stopped my anxiety from being as severe as it was, however it is more frequent. Like my anxiety used to cause chest pains and that doesn’t happen anymore, but I can feel myself getting anxious all the time. It also didn’t help at all with the dryness. It makes my period last longer (about a week) and it is very sporadic. I could not bleed for a majority of the day, but it’ll randomly come and be heavy. I’m just personally not a fan."

"I’m 22 yrs old, female and I started taking Nikki around 3-4 yrs ago. A little back story, I was new at taking birth control and started with the Nuvaring, but it made me so anxious and depressed to the point where I had suicidal thoughts. I only then realized it was linked to the Nuvaring. My doctor then switched me up to Junel Fe and that made me bloat so bad and worsened my acne. I then did researched and requested to use Nikki/Yaz which was the best decision I’ve ever made. I lost weight on Nikki, my acne has gotten better, it prevented pregnancy, and my boobs are more perky! I never experienced any depression on this pill! And for my sex drive, it was low and I was kinda dry on some occasion, but nothing like the desert. I was still able to get wet. Overall, I recommend giving it a try; it’s different for everyone, but it really helped me out. I’m sad to have to change my birth control due to my health insurance changing."
