"I have been using Baclofen for about 2 years. I had a back and neck fusion so I use it for the muscles in those areas. It reacts, not like a sedative, but as a stimulant. Hyper energy, unable to sleep if I take it late in the day."

"Prescribed this by pain management doctor along with Roxy 15 mg. Made very sleepy- seeing no improvement with back pain/ leg pain over just taking the Roxy. Side effects are just too many for the slight relief it may have given."

"I have stiff trapped muscles that I used to take Klonipin off label to help relax them. PM doc won't prescribe them but will write for 20 baclofen 10 mg a month. I have the worse tendonitis and neck spasms ever taking them. Can't win."

"For three years or so prescribed 10mg three times a day for extremely painful muscle spasms in feet, calves, thighs in several places, abdomen, forearms and hands. Toes and fingers will curl grotesquely as though I have extreme arthritis; ankles turn on their sides. You want to SCREAM! I take just two of the three, as they do the trick (I resist over medicating). BUT, if I miss a dose the symptoms reoccur within hours at which times the spasms cease in 20-30 minutes. I've experienced no negative side effects. Frankly, I couldn't live without Baclofen!!! (Or, Gabapentin; but, its potential side effects are potentially more scary.)"

"I was put on baclofen for muscle spasms caused from spinal stenosis. It works quite well for me. If I miss a dose, I can feel the difference. My doctor increased my dose to the maximum when I had more episode of my leg spasming."

"Was Rx'd Baclofen by a psychiatrist during intense "P/T Mngt" Program for Cervical Spine. Found it ineffective as a Muscle Relaxant & when my upper body would seize together in a "lock down", Baclofen did not budge a fibre loose. I give it a 0 in comparison to Valium (Diazepam), which was Rx'd by my psychiatrist who saw my physical distress. Valium is in the Benzo class (Ativan, Zanax) but it functions primarily by relaxing muscles. For me, no dependence or withdrawal symptoms."

"I was taking baclofen for a few months, when I noticed it made me sweat like crazy. It seems that after the initial start of the medication, it just became ineffective. I felt relief for the muscle tightness and random spasms, but now I don't want to take it because it makes me sweat so much. I am hoping I can try Soma. There seems to be a lot of positive reviews."

"As for pain: it's excellent. I'm only using it temporarily for sciatica. It really does help. Sleepiness: I can only take it at night. Primary side effect: Nausea. I will not be using the medication long-term."

"Yeah the drug works. No more back spasms, and no pain at all. Side effects many this is my first time using it will not use again. Dizzy, stomach aches, sleepiness. A doctor at the VA in Atlanta, Ga recommended it to me. I am not a disabled veteran, if I was I would be able to get my teeth fixed."

"I have been using baclofen for about a year now and I'll say it's not as effective as Soma (carisoprodol) but it takes the edge off painful constant pain in my legs. I use three 20mg tablets daily. Due to the narcotics I'm taking and valium, my doc and I agreed that soma would make me way too sedated. Haven't had to make any adjustments to my med regimen since starting the baclofen. No side effects of the med, occasionally I'll get a brief headache. I'd recommend to ppl suffering from painful spasms."

"This is going to seem strange but I took baclofen for a year or so circa 2017 and don’t specifically remember why at the moment. But I had a lot left over. Within the past 6 months I started getting strong, long-lasting muscle spasms in my calves. The type of spasm that involuntarily turned my ankle and twisted my pinky toe. Nothing helped. And then I remembered my left over baclofen. I took it while a spasm was in progress at 4am and it stopped immediately."

"A drug that was highly recommended for my anxiety, however I find drugs like Clonazepam to be far more effective for severe anxiety issues like anxiety caused by PTSD or previous traumatic experiences. This drug is better for people trying to get off of benzos, opioids, or to help with alcohol withdrawal"

"Have been using as needed for muscle pain in my neck and shoulder for about a year. I take it at night and it helps prevent waking up with headaches. I do have bouts of nausea. But I’m unsure if it is due to the Baclofen or by the copious amounts of ibuprofen I’ve taken over the years. I try not to use it in the daytime if I can help it as it makes me drowsy."

"Been using baclofen for 2 months used to have shooting pains and would be unable to sleep because of throbbing muscle pain. I guess I am lucky one because I have had no side effects. I am unable to take NSAIDs because of possible liver damage and allergic to Tylanol. This has been a good medicine for me."

"I have been taking Baclofen 5 mg 3x a day for about a year now for chronic neck and shoulder pain. It definitely takes the pain down a few notches especially when combined with some Tylenol. Fortunately I haven’t experienced any side effects from this drug, but I take a low dose. I would definitely recommend this drug to others. It is not a slam dunk on eliminating the pain but it definitely helps without any noticeable side effects."

"Nothing else prescribed has worked for tight cramping muscles. Really hoping to be able to replace the very expensive medical cannabis oil with my free prescription for baclofen so I can sleep and not be locked up with spasms and cramps. CIPN and muscle spasms post chemo are exhausting. Will follow up later. Dose 1 and sleepy two hours in…fighting to stay awake. Yay!"

"Baclofen helped with the muscle spasms long enough for me to get to sleep, but the effects didn't carry into the next day. It made me slightly manic, like I'd had way too much coffee, but not enough to be dangerous. I had a doctor tell me not to make major life decisions on this drug, and I see why. The worst of it though it's the vivid, terrifying nightmares where I felt like I was in real danger and woke up screaming. They don't wear off fast either - I couldn't find my phone and remember thinking I'd left it in my dream. I woke up and thought some dream-entity had replaced my sleeping partner. And of course, my partner doesn't sleep well when I wake up screaming."

"I have been on baclofen for years for muscle spasms at night. About six months ago, I began waking up at night with severe pain in my ankles and the arteries in my lower leg were bulging out. Nothing would help the pain. It would just have to go away on its own after a few mins of walking. I ran out of baclofen and didn't take it for about 4 days. Immediately, I had no more ankle pain at night. It was a godsend that I ran out. I will never take it again! For muscle cramps, I just now take a muscle relaxer as needed."
