Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking benzocaine otic: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call you doctor at once if you have:

severe burning, stinging or other irritation after using the ear drops;

ear pain, redness, or swelling;

oozing or discharge from your ear; or
-
ear discomfort you did not have before using this medicine.
Common side effects may include:

mild stinging, burning, or irritation in the ear.
