THURSDAY, July 31, 2025 — More than 1,000 pounds of frozen ground beef are being recalled after metal pieces were reportedly found in the product.

The frozen, fully cooked beef was made by Ada Valley Meat Company and sent to food service locations and distributors in five states: California, Delaware, Illinois, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said the beef came in 20-pound cardboard boxes. Two lot codes are part of the recall:

The issue came to light after someone complained that pieces of metal were found in the product.

So far, no injuries or illnesses have been reported, according to FSIS.

The agency warned that some of the recalled beef may still be in institutional freezers and urged food service locations not to use it.

Instead, the beef should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
