- Coly Mycin M (colistimethate)
- mycophenolic acid
Interactions between your drugs
colistimethate mycophenolic acid
Applies to: Coly Mycin M (colistimethate), mycophenolic acid
Colistimethate may reduce the blood levels and effects of mycophenolic acid. You may need a dose adjustment of mycophenolic acid or more frequent monitoring to use both medications together. Contact your doctor if your symptoms worsen or your condition changes during treatment with these medications. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any signs or symptoms of organ rejection such as less urine output (kidney transplant); shortness of breathing, swelling, or less ability to exercise (heart transplant); or yellowing of the skin or eyes (liver transplant). It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food/lifestyle interactions
mycophenolic acid food/lifestyle
Applies to: mycophenolic acid
Take mycophenolic acid on an empty stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal unless otherwise directed by your doctor. Food may reduce the absorption of mycophenolic acid. This will make it easier for your body to absorb the medication. Do not crush, chew, or cut the tablets. The tablets have a special coating to protect the stomach from irritation.
