2 potential interactions and/or warnings found for the following 2 drugs:
- fluoroestradiol F 18
- Tamone (tamoxifen)
Interactions between your drugs
tamoxifen fluoroestradiol F 18
Applies to: Tamone (tamoxifen), fluoroestradiol F 18
Using fluoroestradiol F 18 together with tamoxifen may reduce the action of fluoroestradiol F 18 in detecting certain types of cancer. Fluoroestradiol F 18 acts as a tracer that collects in cancer cells and is used to look for the spread of some types of breast cancer known as estrogen receptor positive breast cancer, to other parts of the body. Tamoxifen may interfere with the uptake of fluoroestradiol F 18 into these cancer cells. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
tamoxifen food
Applies to: Tamone (tamoxifen)
Talk to your doctor before using tamoxifen with soy products. There is some evidence that substances present in soy may stimulate breast tumor growth and interfere with the action of tamoxifen, although this has not been proven. Whether soy products are effective for hot flashes is also uncertain. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
