- MD-76 (diatrizoate)
Interactions between your drugs
nadolol bendroflumethiazide
Applies to: Corzide 80 / 5 (bendroflumethiazide / nadolol), Corzide 80 / 5 (bendroflumethiazide / nadolol)
Using nadolol and bendroflumethiazide together may lower your blood pressure and slow your heart rate. This can cause dizziness, or feeling like you might pass out, weakness, fainting, fast or irregular heartbeats, or loss of blood glucose control. If you take both medications together, tell your doctor if you have any of these symptoms. You may need a dose adjustment or need your blood pressure checked more often to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
nadolol diatrizoate
Applies to: Corzide 80 / 5 (bendroflumethiazide / nadolol), MD-76 (diatrizoate)
Before you undergo any imaging procedure where diatrizoate may be given by injection, let your doctor know if you are currently being treated with nadolol. Injection of diatrizoate can sometimes cause severe allergic reactions and low blood pressure, and the risk may be increased if you are also using nadolol. In addition, treatment of the allergic reactions may be more difficult if medications like nadolol are present in the body. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
bendroflumethiazide diatrizoate
Applies to: Corzide 80 / 5 (bendroflumethiazide / nadolol), MD-76 (diatrizoate)
Before you undergo any imaging procedure where diatrizoate may be given by injection, let your doctor know if you are currently being treated with bendroflumethiazide. Injection of diatrizoate can sometimes cause kidney problems, and the risk may be increased if you are also using bendroflumethiazide. The interaction may be more likely if you have preexisting kidney disease, congestive heart failure, or diabetes; or if you are elderly, dehydrated, or taking other medications that can affect the kidney. Depending on your health situation, your doctor may want you to stop using bendroflumethiazide for a certain length of time before and after the procedure. You may also be asked to increase your fluid intake the day before the procedure, or you may be given intravenous fluids before, during, and after the procedure. Since diatrizoate contains iodine, also let your doctor know if you have had a previous reaction to iodine or iodine-containing products. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
nadolol food
Applies to: Corzide 80 / 5 (bendroflumethiazide / nadolol)
Green tea may decrease the blood levels and effects of nadolol. You should avoid or limit the consumption of green tea and green tea extracts during treatment with nadolol. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
nadolol food
Applies to: Corzide 80 / 5 (bendroflumethiazide / nadolol)
Nadolol and ethanol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate. These side effects are most likely to be seen at the beginning of treatment, following a dose increase, or when treatment is restarted after an interruption. Let your doctor know if you develop these symptoms and they do not go away after a few days or they become troublesome. Avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you, and use caution when getting up from a sitting or lying position. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

nadolol food
Applies to: Corzide 80 / 5 (bendroflumethiazide / nadolol)
Using nadolol together with multivitamin with minerals may decrease the effects of nadolol. Separate the administration times of nadolol and multivitamin with minerals by at least 2 hours. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
