Drug Interactions between erdafitinib and maraviroc

This report displays the potential drug interactions for the following 2 drugs:

Edit list (add/remove drugs)

Interactions between your drugs

Moderate

maraviroc erdafitinib

Applies to: maraviroc and erdafitinib

GENERALLY AVOID: Coadministration with erdafitinib may increase the plasma concentrations of drugs that are substrates of the P-glycoprotein (P-gp) efflux transporter, resulting in increased toxicity of these drugs. In vitro, erdafitinib has been shown to be an inhibitor of P-gp. However, no pharmacokinetic data are available from drug interaction studies.

MANAGEMENT: Concomitant use of erdafitinib and P-gp substrates should generally be avoided. If concomitant use is required, administer erdafitinib at least 6 hours before or after administration of P-gp substrates with narrow therapeutic ranges.

Drug and food interactions

Minor

maraviroc food

Applies to: maraviroc

Administration with food may reduce the bioavailability of maraviroc. According to the product labeling, coadministration of a 300 mg dose of maraviroc with a high-fat breakfast reduced maraviroc peak plasma concentration (Cmax) and systemic exposure (AUC) by 33% in healthy volunteers. However, no food restrictions were used in the clinical studies that demonstrated the safety and efficacy of maraviroc. Therefore, maraviroc can be taken with or without food at the recommended dosage.

Drug Interaction Classification

These classifications are only a guideline. The relevance of a particular drug interaction to a specific individual is difficult to determine. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting or stopping any medication.
Major Highly clinically significant. Avoid combinations; the risk of the interaction outweighs the benefit.
Moderate Moderately clinically significant. Usually avoid combinations; use it only under special circumstances.
Minor Minimally clinically significant. Minimize risk; assess risk and consider an alternative drug, take steps to circumvent the interaction risk and/or institute a monitoring plan.
Unknown No interaction information available.
