This report displays the potential drug interactions for the following 2 drugs:
- Corzide 80/5 (bendroflumethiazide/nadolol)
- ponesimod
Interactions between your drugs
nadolol ponesimod
Applies to: Corzide 80 / 5 (bendroflumethiazide / nadolol) and ponesimod
Before starting ponesimod, let your doctor know if you are currently receiving treatment with nadolol. Using ponesimod in this situation can cause excessive slowing of your heart rate that can lead to serious or life-threatening cardiac complications. This is most likely to occur early on after you start treatment with ponesimod, especially within the first several hours after the first dose. On the other hand, it may be alright for you to use these medications together if you have been stable on ponesimod therapy for a while when you begin treatment with nadolol. Talk to your doctor if you are uncertain whether you should be treated with these medications at the same time. Contact your doctor if you develop dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, shortness of breath, chest pain, or heart palpitations during treatment. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
nadolol bendroflumethiazide
Applies to: Corzide 80 / 5 (bendroflumethiazide / nadolol) and Corzide 80 / 5 (bendroflumethiazide / nadolol)
Using nadolol and bendroflumethiazide together may lower your blood pressure and slow your heart rate. This can cause dizziness, or feeling like you might pass out, weakness, fainting, fast or irregular heartbeats, or loss of blood glucose control. If you take both medications together, tell your doctor if you have any of these symptoms. You may need a dose adjustment or need your blood pressure checked more often to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
nadolol food
Applies to: Corzide 80 / 5 (bendroflumethiazide / nadolol)
Green tea may decrease the blood levels and effects of nadolol. You should avoid or limit the consumption of green tea and green tea extracts during treatment with nadolol. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Applies to: Corzide 80 / 5 (bendroflumethiazide / nadolol)
Nadolol and ethanol (alcohol) may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate. These side effects are most likely to be seen at the beginning of treatment, following a dose increase, or when treatment is restarted after an interruption. Let your doctor know if you develop these symptoms and they do not go away after a few days or they become troublesome. Avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you, and use caution when getting up from a sitting or lying position. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
