Drug and food interactions
carbenicillin food
Applies to: carbenicillin
ADJUST DOSING INTERVAL: Certain penicillins may exhibit reduced gastrointestinal absorption in the presence of food. The therapeutic effect of the antimicrobial may be reduced.
MANAGEMENT: The interacting penicillin should be administered one hour before or two hours after meals. Penicillin V and amoxicillin are not affected by food and may be given without regard to meals.

risedronate food
Applies to: Actonel (risedronate)
ADJUST DOSING INTERVAL: Food significantly decreases the bioavailability of risedronate, possibly to negligible levels.
MANAGEMENT: Risedronate should be administered with 180 to 240 mL (6 to 8 ounces) of plain water, at least 30 minutes before the first food, beverage, or medication of the day. Patients should remain upright for at least 30 minutes following administration of risedronate.
