For Birth Control "STAY AWAY FROM THIS PILL. I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. I liked it a lot because I had zero acne. The only problem was that my periods lasted over a week and could be painful. I changed gynecologist when I moved to college. She put me on Lo Loestrin Fe, and it was the worst year of my entire life. My face looked worse than it did in 7th grade. I have ZERO sex drive. I already have anxiety, and this pill made it a million times worse, and I about drove everyone, as well as myself, crazy with my mood swings and attitude. Wanna know the worst part? I had two periods a month. One on the week my actual period was supposed to start and one on the second week in the pack. I put up with that for an entire year thinking it would 'regulate.' It didn't. BEWARE."

For Birth Control "WORST BIRTH CONTROL. I was on it for a little over a year and just got off of it (thank goodness!) First 3 months of taking the pill, I gained 18 pounds... And my diet and exercise did not change whatsoever. I developed these extremely painful vaginal infections while on this pill, and my sex drive dropped significantly. Never suffered with acne, not even during my awkward teen years, but as soon as I started taking this medication, I broke out EVERYWHERE... Face and body. But worst of all, this pill made me absolutely PSYCHOTIC. I'm generally a really happy person, but all of a sudden, I became EXTREMELY testy, angry, and teary all the time. Even had quite a few gnarly panic attacks. I would never recommend this to anyone..."

For Birth Control "I was on this birth control for three months. I gained over ten pounds and went from a C cup to a DD. This pill was absolutely terrible for me. I lowered my sex drive, and my emotions were so all over the place that I considered seeing a therapist. Seems like a lot of side effects for such a low dose of hormones. Not worth it at all."

For Birth Control "I just finished my first pack, and I love it so far. Normally, I can tell the exact moment when I get my period because it is so painful. It's gotten so bad that I've been close to vomiting from the pain before. I have experienced no spotting, no reduced sex drive, or weight gain so far, and the pain is gone. I love it!!"

For Birth Control "I wrote a review about this birth control pill 1 month in taking the pill. Things were great besides the 1 breakout that I can't necessarily put on the pill. But now, 4 months in, I'm having to go to my gynecologist back again because things worsened considerably. I break out like a teenager (I never had a pimple in my life, and I have no idea what to do about it), I actually have cysts, and they're sore to touch!!! I mean, it's ridiculous! I started having dryness during sex (not so much now, but I had to adjust my methods subsequently ;)), irregular periods, random spotting, can't plan anything because I don't know when my period will come... and my breasts are very tender to touch. I honestly hate it. It doesn't do anything for me :("

For Birth Control "There is only one issue I've had in the 2½ years I've been on this birth control. Absolutely no sex drive whatsoever. On the positive side, I have a period once in a blue moon, but I don't even know if I can consider it a period. I don't even have to use panty liners! I just wish I could get my sex drive back."

For Birth Control "NOPE! Do not take this if you suffer from anxiety or depression because you will get worse. I have panic attacks every day, I overthink, cannot concentrate in uni classes because of the anxiety, picking fights with my friends and family, and the list goes on. It has cleared my acne but not my attitude. My sex drive is garbage now too. I regret taking this pill. I am scared to continue taking this pill and I don't know when to stop taking it."

For Birth Control "I was on Lo Loestrin for about 4 years, and I loved this birth control. I only got my period every 3 months, and when I did, they were super light. It didn't affect my weight or my skin, it just made my boobs bigger, which I was happy about. It didn't affect my sex drive at all, overall, I had very few symptoms due to this pill. I recently had to switch to Blisovi FE because my insurance stopped covering Lo Loestrin, and it's horrible. Definitely wish I could still take this pill because it was the best birth control I've ever been on."

For Birth Control "When I first started taking this birth control, it was great. My periods stopped, and I only had some spotting the first month or so. About two to three months in though, I felt like it made me lose my sex drive a lot and had no libido. On top of this, I noticed I had a lot of vaginal dryness - even before having sex - and this made doing anything sexual not that pleasurable. I also gained a few pounds after beginning the pill. I didn't experience any change in my acne though, as it is a possible side effect of this particular birth control."

For Birth Control "I have been on just about every pill/needle contraceptive out there, and usually all the side effects take about a year to show up. I was on the Depo needle for 2 years and LOVED it, but my doctor made a point of mentioning every 3 months that I should go off of it. Now this lovely little pill destroyed my sex drive within the first 3 months, the only positive is that I grew a cup size overnight. Downfall: gained 23 pounds over 6 months. Constant bloating and took 5 months for my period to regulate. Another bad side effect is I no longer sleep longer than 5 hours a night when I am known for sleeping like a log (and night sweats are so bad I wake up soaking to the point I have to change my clothes and sheets), never had that before in my life."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control in January shortly after I had my son and kept taking it for almost 9 months. I was losing hair the entire time, but I blamed it on the fact I just had a baby, so I kept waiting for it to stop, and it didn't. Besides that, everything was fine up until the 8th month of taking it. My period became irregular, I had 0 sex drive, and vaginal dryness, which was terrible. I also gained some weight on this pill. Overall, it didn't work for me, but that's not to say it won't work for anyone else!"

For Birth Control "Been on this for 4 months. First month I had a little nausea, and I got my period twice in the first 3 weeks, each time lasting about 4 days. After that, it went straight to a normal cycle. I went from soaking through 4-5 pads a day on my heaviest days to just some brown discharge. No weight gain, but I'm having a little harder time taking weight off (maybe in my head?). Sex drive is down a little, but it's a small price to pay to not act like a crazy woman! Even my husband says he can't believe the difference in my moods. (In a good way!) My face cleared up, and minimal period! Working wonders for me!"

For Birth Control "An overall good BC pill. It has helped tremendously with facial acne. I have also noticed an increase in scalp hair growth while on this pill. The only side effects I have experienced are low libido and absence of a cycle (which may be a plus for some users). Due to the aforementioned cycle absence, I have stopped taking this pill for a few months at a time to induce a monthly menstrual cycle. I think the pros of this pill definitely outweigh the cons. Good pill to try if you are having problems with heavy cycles and/or acne."

For Birth Control "This pill is okay in my opinion. I didn't gain any weight, and it didn't change my acne (I have naturally pretty clear skin), BUT, this made my emotions a complete roller coaster. At one point during the day, I was on top of the world, and the next, I was on the verge of crying. The biggest problem with this BC is my sex drive. Sex is not good anymore, and I never had any issues before I started taking this."

For Birth Control "I started this pill on the first day of my period and have almost finished a pack now. I had a longer period followed by brown discharge for a week. This pill makes me feel fatigued the whole time, just like the worst I feel before getting my period. My energy level has decreased significantly. Secondly, I noticed my sex drive is gone. Last but not least, my hair is falling out a lot. Initially, I was going to give it another month to see if the side effects would get better, but now I decide to get off this pill after the first pack. It changed how my body feels completely, and I can't be this tired every day."

For Birth Control "This product has had such a negative impact on me. I’ve always been in and around 110 pounds, but I immediately gained 20 on LoLo that won’t come off. I have zero sex drive, and my anxiety and depression have worsened. I also haven’t gotten my period in 2 years, which is not very comforting. For Birth Control "The first month was the worst. I had a lot of mood swings and very tender breasts. After that, the side effects have been very minimal. I no longer have my period, but around the time I used to get my period every month, I get light cramps. I also get very tender breasts during this time, but they have gotten bigger since taking the birth control. The only major complaint I have is that I've had a major decrease in sex drive as well as being very tired in the morning. I switched to this birth control because I got very sick every morning. I like this one much better."

For Birth Control "This was my first BC. I was on it for 3 years. My Dr. first prescribed so I'd have a control my period, and after a year and a half, my periods started to only show up every 3 months! My periods were lighter when they were present. I never had bad cramps. I did lack serious sex drive and was dry as a desert after the 1.5-year mark. Acne never changed. No appetite craze or weight gain."

For Birth Control "For years I swore Lo Loestrin was the best BC I'd ever been on. I no longer had periods, which I loved, no bleeding, cramping, or bloating ever. No weight gain. I loved it so much I'd even shell out over $100 a month just to purchase it once I lost my insurance and later when my new insurance wouldn't cover it. Other concerns led me to the idea of quitting birth control altogether. I'm in a committed relationship, and I think 15 years of taking hormones is enough. After I stopped taking it for a couple of months, my libido skyrocketed. It took getting off of Lo Loestrin to realize it had virtually killed my sex drive completely. My marriage is so much better without it! It's effective, but understand like any other drug there are costs."

For Birth Control "I started Lo Loestrin Fe about one month ago. I switched from NuvaRing to the pill. Everyone is different, but for reference, I'm 26, 5'8", 130. I'm pretty healthy and wanted to see how this would work, and now I've had nausea for about 3 weeks, low sex drive, low appetite. My skin and weight have not changed at all. Called my doc, and she said my body is getting used to the meds. Hoping this ends soon because it's no fun!"

For Birth Control "I read a ton of these reviews, and none of them quite described my experience - truly, everyone reacts differently on this pill. For the first month, I dealt with terrible headaches. But I stuck it through, and they subsided within a few weeks. I also felt like at first my sex drive decreased, but everything was back to normal after the first month. Ever since I started taking it, I haven’t had periods at all, which has been great. I also love that I no longer get cyclical breast pain and tenderness - my breasts were slightly more tender during the first few months, but they never really hurt anymore. Overall, I really like this pill. I haven’t gained any weight, had an increase in acne, or experienced increased anxiety or depression - all things I was scared of when I started taking it."

For Birth Control "I have taken this birth control for several years now, and I've never been happier. I do not get my period while I am on this pill, like at all. Not even a spot. I thought that was something to be worried about, so I spoke to my gyno, and he assured me that it's normal for some women to not get their period at all while on Lo Lo. I didn't gain weight, I didn't get acne, and I didn't have emotional issues. The only side effect I've experienced is once a month my libido increases like anything for 2 days!! That's it."

For Birth Control "I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe for about a year and a half now. This is my first BC pill. After taking it for the first time, I basically had what felt like severe PMS for a week or so, accompanied by cramps, general moodiness, and spotting. After that, it seemed to even out and things got better. My main complaint is that I seem to be much moodier than I've ever been in the past during my period - becoming depressed and I have almost no sex drive. I have had major breast tenderness in the first few months of taking it (feels like my boobs were getting bigger and just achy). I've gained a little weight (4 lb) but nothing unusual. But I also can't seem to lose it, either. (I bike every day for at least an hour and am generally a healthy eater.)"

For Birth Control "Update. I am in my third month now taking this BC pill. I have only 12 pills remaining. I developed acne on my chin during the second month on this pill, but it has since gone away. I still have not had a period since September 20th, yet I am now spotting daily. I no longer have any desire for intimacy; my sex drive has completely diminished. I have become extremely moody, less tolerant, and easily angered. I will not be renewing this prescription, but will research other products. Any advice would be greatly appreciated."
