For Birth Control "Lately I've been feeling "off", I feel moody and sometimes want to cry for no reason. I recently felt super nauseous, dizzy and felt like I was going to faint while driving but for no apparent reason. I went to the doctor and everything was fine. I went to the optometrist and everything with my eyes was fine. I've had panic attacks, severe anxiety, a feeling of "blah", headaches and dizziness plus all around weirdness and I believe its from these pills. I was on a different birth control a while ago and I got weird symptoms from it too. I'm going to change my pill and see if that does the trick. Plus I've gained SO MUCH WEIGHT from this pill."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this pill for some time now, the first time I took it it cleared my acne, no weight gain except in my boobs went from a B to a C. Got off of it simply bc I ran out. Back on it now. Some days I get nausea in the morning...some days I can be moody and this time I have been breaking out like crazy. Been on it for 2 months now since the last time... will give it a few months to see if everything gets better."

For Birth Control "This birth control is an amateur one for sure. I have been on it for almost 3 months now. I have mood swings, weight gain in hips and thighs ( I'm a professional athlete and have never had weight there), increased appetite, and occasional bleeding. I have had some minor break outs too. I am definitely switching over to a different brand."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this brand for a few months now and I am very happy with it. In the first month I did realize a bit more acne than usual, though this may have been due to stress as well. In the later months, acne was not a problem. I was slightly more emotional during the placebo weeks, but nothing too out of control. I found that my cramps were virtually disappearing with less and less pain each month. Good reviews aren't written that often. I recommend this brand if you are not easily prone to oily skin and break outs. Oh! And no weight gain!"

For Birth Control "I gave these pills a fair shot. After the first few months I really started to notice extreme mood swings and an overall change in my mood. I was always angry, sad and unhappy. Especially the week before my period, I was just plain psychotic. My cramps got worse on this pill too, they would start up to a week before my period. My periods got longer but also lighter. I gained 30 pounds in a year and my acne got worse after about 6 months. The acne cleared up the first few months though. I also would get nausea and headaches. My sex drive was just fine, no change. Vaginal dryness, yes. It did work though, never had a single pregnancy scare. I just couldn't handle the mood changes and neither could my relationship."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Before taking Chateal, I was on Sprintec for 9 years. I had a flawless experience with Sprintec, but when my health insurance ended I was left with Chateal. The first few months were fine, but over time I started spotting between periods more and more frequently. I was very careful about taking it at the same time every day, but still the spotting persisted. After just over a year on Chateal and about 6 months of spotting, I switched back to Sprintec a week ago and no spotting yet! Also, while on Chateal I felt down a lot of the time and had pretty bad anxiety. I'd rather pay out of pocket for Sprintec than get Chateal for free. It kept me from getting pregnant though, so it works in that sense."

For Birth Control "I'm on my 3rd pack of chateal and I just called my birth control provider to ask them if they could switch me to another pill. It's worked for me the last 3 months that I've been on it but with some side effects. Like really bad nausea, stomach pains, but the one that really bothered me was the acne. I usually have really clear skin and only get acne when I'm about to start my period but ever since I started taking these, I break out like crazy! I expect to see a new pimple right after taking a pill. They're always really bad ones too! Hopefully my next pill is better!"

For Birth Control "Good things first; shorter lighter periods, came at the same time every month, like started and ended the same day of the week, less pain, I get really bad backaches. Now for the bad stuff; discharge, horrible discharge every day.Acne, weight gain, mood changes, like so bad! It ruined my new relationship and turned me into an anxious depressed mess. Like a literal crazy person. Gave it a three cause it's easy to use, I didn't get pregnant, aaaand it made my periods easier. So it did its job, but turned me into a crazy person."

For Birth Control "Can't recommend. The mood swings and fatigue were nothing compared to the violent nausea I experienced when taking this pill. I actually mistook the symptoms for food poisoning for the first couple days I was taking it. I figured my body would adjust eventually, but after a couple weeks I couldn't handle it anymore. The sickness subsided immediately when I stopped taking this pill. Estrogen can irritate the stomach, so it might just be that I'm particularly sensitive. I'm now taking a progesterone-only pill and so far no upset tummy. :)"

For Birth Control "I started Chateal four months ago. Bad idea, I've gained 20 pounds, something extremely unusual for me cause I had the same weight since I was 15 and I've been having acne episodes which is even more rare cause I never had it before either. No severe mood changes but I've been very tired and sleepy too. Conclusion: This pill sucks I can't wait to change it."

For Birth Control "I was on Chateal for 4 months and I didn't like it. I was always moody and very emotional. I was always feeling depressed and I didn't like that. I'm normally a happy person so when I started feeling this way. I immediately wanted to switch birth control. Only thing I liked about was that I had an appetite and was able to gain weight like I wanted too unlike the other birth controls I've taken. I didn't like being moody all the time so I switched to the depo shot and I've been so much happier."

For Birth Control "I always had really severe period pain and I would throw up. So I started a birth control and it made me feel horrible. I no longer threw up, but it made me severely depressed. I was afraid to try another pill. I started chateal and I didn't gain any weight. I didn't get depressed or break out any more than normal. And I no linger felt pain , I do still get slight nauseous around my period but no where near as bad as before. I have taken this pill a little more than a year and I have not gotten pregnant either. Although I use other precautions as well. My sister is looking for a good birth control and this is the one I've been recommending."

For Birth Control "I'm 18 yrs old and I started taking this after the first time I had sex, overall this proscription has proven to be so accurate but I am very big on taking it every day at almost the exact same time(30 mins off but never more than that) And I did notice when I first got on it my sex drive went down and I had been really moody. Things that wouldn't normally get to me did but not 6 months in everything is getting regular. Very, very effective!"

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I was put on Chateal 5 months ago because I was diagnosed with PCOS & Hypothyroidism. I had bleeding for 28 weeks Prior so they wanted to stop it. It didn't regulate me at all, I've experienced Period Cramping which I've never had before. I've lost weight and my sex drive. I've had nausea, Dizziness, Frequent Migraines, Blood in stool. But worst of all Stomach cramps and Extreme pain In abdomen area. If I stop taking the pills the bleeding will continue and I won't be able to get the tests I need to find out what is wrong. All in all, I'm going back on Friday to get more tests and a biopsy. If this birth control gives you extreme side effects, Or doesn't regulate your period; Contact your doctor right away."

For Birth Control "This is the worst pill I've ever taken. It made me feel very sad, depressed and I questioned everything and everyone's existence. I felt crazy and not like myself for the whole 2 weeks I took it. My face started to break out severely and it only got worst in a short span of time. I'm glad I stopped taking this pill because I probably would have attempt suicide. I do not recommend this pill to anyone. Stay away from this one!"

For Birth Control "When I first started this birth control i thought that it actually improved my mood but after a couple months on the pill I have become extremely irritable, I start fights with my boyfriend constantly that end up in screaming matches, and just overall an angry person. That is not how I was at all before taking the pill. The pill has been effective in preventing pregnancy in two ways, one it's intended way, and two hardly any sex drive save for when I'm actually on my period. I don't think this is the birth control for me and I will be switching after I'm through with my last box next month."

For Birth Control "I've had a great experience on Chateal. I used to have terrible migraines and unbearable cramps that on more than one occasion threatened to send me to the ER (and only didn't because I couldn't stand up and walk to the car to get there), and that all stopped when I got on birth control. I started on Levora and switched to Chanteal, the transition was seamless. I haven't had any of my previous problems and...it just works. If you are the kind of person who is able to take your pill at the same time each day (and really be consistent), then I would absolutely suggest this pill."

For Birth Control "I must say this birth control was a horrible experience. I had taken Chateal for about 11 months. I experienced horrible mood swings and depression while taking this. I didn't pin point that it was the pill until I finally switched birth controls and my moods swings have been far less than they have been the last 11 months. I know everyone reacts differently to birth control and this one was NOT for me. Please be in tune with your body and how it reacts."

For Premenstrual Syndrome "This helped my PMDD, however it makes sex painful no matter how much lubrication I use. It also caused me to develop post-coital dysphoria which I never experienced before I went on the pill. This pill also lowers libido which can be positive or negative depending on who you are.."

For Birth Control "I took chateal for 3 months, I was depressed, got nauseous every day, get horrible headaches, gained 20 pounds, got horrible acne, had the worst cramps, lost my sex drive. Stopped taking them 3 weeks ago, my acne is clearing up, my headaches are gone, my sex drive is back but I have been bleeding since I stopped taking them."

For Birth Control "NO! Like someone said earlier, every pill effects every women differently...but NO! Mood swings galore, like you would not believe. So bad some days I felt I was loosing my mind. This happened to me once before on a different pill and I wasn't aware of it but, this time around I knew to be in touch with my body while using a different pill."

For Birth Control "This pill did clear my acne, but it took about six months. It gives me this weird feeling like I am about to burst out in tears, but I do not because there is nothing to be upset about when I think about it. I was in a negative mental rut today, and I think it was due to this pill. No weight gain, and I hope the mood swings are not as bad as I am naturally already a moody person. Very effective in preventing pregnancy. I stopped it a year ago for a more natural method of B.C., but resumed taking it because my acne came back."

For Birth Control "Been on Chateal for about a month now. Tried Depo previously, which was terrible. I bled for 6 months straight, my face broke out terribly and my sex drive was in the gutter. So far, the only thing I notice with this pill is that my cramps during the placebo week are WAAAAY worse than my cramps prior to taking chateal. And my sex drive went down a bit but not too bad. Also, breakthrough bleeding since I started taking it but I'm giving it a 3 month window to see improvement with that to see how my body adjusts to the hormones. Prior to taking chateal, I had a "luxury" period. About 4 days, barely any cramps or mood changes. Just a bit of nausea. I hope that doesn't change drastically."

For Birth Control "For many years I took a different form of combined hormone birth control pills (Apri), I eventually discontinued this when I realized it had been what was causing anxiety (panic attacks), low libido, and migraine headaches. Earlier this year I decided I would like to try a different type of pill and was given Chateal. I started in early March and have constantly questioned it. This type of pill has not caused the problems I had with Apri, which is great, and has also made my boobs about 2x bigger (!! awesome) but I have many other side effects. Side effects include: severe breast tenderness, weight gain (5lb in 4 months which is very unusual for me) but also just general abdominal bloating, cystic acne on face/chest/back (which I never have usually), poor sleep (waking up frequently), mild anxiety and sharp irritability, and thick white vaginal discharge (unrelated to yeast infection). Maybe this pill works for some people, but after 4.5 months, my body is clearly not taking well to it."
