For Birth Control "I took this pill for 5 months before deciding to get off of it a week ago. For birth control and unwanted pregnancy it definitely does the job. The first couple of weeks I felt nauseous almost everyday and just all around sick. One time I felt so overwhelmed and burst into tears at work for no real reason. After week 3 those feelings went away and I didn't have those problems anymore. However, I feel as if it suppressed my metabolism and I gained about 15 pounds. And tired. All I wanted to do was sleep all day, and if I let myself I slept for hours. The biggest issue I had though, is my sex drive went completely away. I didn't care if I had sex or not which created a big problem with my boyfriend."

For Birth Control "While it does prevent pregnancy, it has many negative side effects. I experienced weight gain (weight that won't go away no matter how much exercise I do), frequent acne break outs, and negative mood. However it does what it's supposed to do and keeps my period very regular. I plan on continuing my use of Chatel just because it's my only option and it was free from Planned Parenthood."

For Birth Control "Chateal is the first birth control I've ever loved. I've tried them all and they make me severely depressed and moody. I realized I never had levongesterol which is the hormone recommended to treat period pain, I specifically asked to try this after tons of research. I skip the placebo pills and take only active pills. I breakthrough bleed about every 4 months and give myself a painless 4 day kind of period. I lost weight, acne was reduced, boobs bigger, great sex drive, no periods really, no pain. Miracle pill. I've had 2 amazing years. I am 28 and have been experimenting for 12 years and have hated everything until now. I did just grab a refill and was given Chateal eq. I hope it's the same thing. Looks like it is."

For Endometriosis "On Chateal for endometriosis and my sex drive disappeared, my acne EXPLODED, and I normally have clear skin, I have diarrhea, all the time, every day and my boobs are constantly sore. Not pregnant, but I'm only on month two. I want to change but Planned Parenthood in my state doesn't offer free or cost effective appointments so I'll be trapped taking this for a while."

For Birth Control "I've been taking it for 4 months, I take it at night around 10 and to be honest the only thing that bothers me is my boobs are sore and hurt all month long but I mean I can deal with it. Also it didn't help with my period cramps they are still very painful. but no acne or nauseous feelings"

For Endometriosis "Effective for birth control and less painful periods, but HOLY moly, NO NO NO on depression and acne. I've been depressed before, but this birth control made have thoughts of suicide for the first time in my whole life. I felt like crying for no reason every day, I thought life would be better for everyone if I weren't here anymore... I stopped taking it for 2 weeks, and for the first time in months, I feel like myself again. I feel like my head isn't on sideways, and I feel better. More energy, happier, no crying... My face broke out like crazy and I've always had normal skin. Not worth it for me. I'd rather take a few days off every month due to painful cramps than be crazy and pimply."

For Birth Control "I have been on chateal for almost 3 years. I’ve read all these reviews and see that everyone hates it the first couple of months and gets off chateal. Well, I hated it too the first 6 months. It gave me the worst headaches, back aches, and my boobs were sore. Also I would get horrible chest pain . However, after those 6 months I was fine. I never experienced any break thru bleeding. I always get my period when I’m supposed to and it lasts 4-7 days. I think this is a great birth control because my partner and I don’t use condoms and I’ve never had a pregnancy scare. I like it."

For Birth Control "I have been on different names of this pill for almost 6 years, and I love it. Have never had an unplanned pregnancy or even a scare (but I do use the withdrawal method also). My periods are great and always like clockwork. I used to have really bad cramps and heavy flow. Now my periods are manageable. I was 18 when I went on the pill and I did have to go without it recently. One month being off I developed a ton of PMS symptoms and a cyst on my breast! But once I got back on with Chateal.. The cyst and symptoms have all went away! Take it on time and make sure to prepare with refills and you will be fine! And as always just call your nurses if you have questions... Don't guess!"

For Birth Control "So I wanted to take the time to review this birth control, I had tried several before this one & none of them were the right one I would bleed days at a time through out the whole month on the other brands. Then one day my dr. told me to try this one, I read so many reviews & they were bad I was terrified to try it but you don't know until you try right? Well this is my 4th month on chateal & I couldn't be any more pleased. No weight gain, spotting, or mood swings. The only issue I have sometimes is bloating & breaking out but it goes away. If you struggle with break through bleeding I definitely recommend this & push the bad reviews out of the way & remember everyone is different."

For Birth Control "It kept me from getting pregnant, but gave me horrible cramps, even in between periods. My mood was out of control. I had extreme anger and depression, I've never felt so crazy in my life. Mild headaches, but they were daily. Lost my sex drive, and got a yeast infection like immediately. Couldn't eat anything, which may sound like a dream come true, but it was really unhealthy. Forcing myself to eat made me nauseous. Also had vaginal dryness, felt really dehydrated, and was constipated. Definitely not the right pill for me. Good luck ladies, I hope you have a better experience on this. * Take it at the same time every day or you'll get nauseous!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this same birth control for 6 years. I HAVEN’T had any unwanted weight gain, no cramps, I do have an AWESOME regulated period, and FINALLY my acne has been gone for about 8 months now, and I struggled hard core with deep cystic acne, and I’m only left with scars. (Thank you!!!!) I don’t have any issues with depression or any signs like that. I do normally have some anxiety but it hasn’t got worse from taking the pill. There is one thing that I struggle with on a day to day basis. I have been with the same partner for 4 years, and while we have ALWAYS had a great sex life (no problems with orgasms), I just have an extremely low sex drive and I believe this birth control has caused that. It feels like it’s only getting worse. I hope my review helps you. It’s great because NO PREGNANCY, but everyone’s side effects will be different."

For Birth Control "Although I have to give Chateal credit for doing it's job by stopping an unwanted pregnancy, I put on 25 pounds in 4 months. I'd like to also mention I have a fairly low metabolism for the majority of my life. I constantly craved sweets. It made me nauseous everyday at random, horrible mood swings and crying spells the first month. It also increased my cup size and got rid of acne on my back but the other side affects were to horrific for me. I am now discontinuing the pill and going back to the patch."

"Very unhappy with this pill. Never had any issues with any other brand I've been on, but I lost my insurance and had to start going to Planned Parenthood. When they no longer carried the pill I was on previously, they switched me to Chateal. I didn't get pregnant, but had severe acne and weight gain. I gained about 20 pounds and couldn't lose it no matter how much I exercised. Definitely was irritable on it, too. But my periods were much lighter and shorter with less cramping. I quit taking it since I'm not currently having any sex, and things got so much better. My acne cleared up after a week and I started losing all the weight I gained right away. I'd definitely keep an eye out for the side effects though."

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin for 4 years and then it changed to Minestrin. I skip my period every month due to my horrible cramps and no pill seems to help with them. My gynecologist suggest to me that I should skip my period. I switched to Chateal because after years of Loestrin/Minestrin, I think it stopped working properly. I was spotting and cramping and even tried to get my period and that was a mistake. Chateal has been wonderful so far. I am almost on my third month and I haven't had any issues. My cramping is gone and there has been no spotting at all. I haven't noticed any mood swings or any other side effects some people say they have. I haven't had any weight gain and I feel like my acne actually has gotten better. I rarely break out now."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I woke up last night at 1am to serious cramps and a heavy flow after taking Chateal for three months. The cramps slowly got worse keeping me up until 4 am when they felt like contractions. At this point I woke my boyfriend up and asked him to take me to the hospital. On our way I started gushing bright red blood and many many blood clots came along with that. As soon as I got into the ER I had lost so much blood that they thought I was miscarrying so they didn't make me wait. I was passing out, bleeding out, getting hot, and throwing up profusely. Literally thought I was dying. They were talking about the possibility of me needing a blood transfusion. After a pregnancy test, ultrasound, pelvic exam, and blood tests they told me I was not miscarrying but was likely caused by the birth control I was on at the time. 5 hours later I had been given enough blood to leave the hospital but I am still weak and tired from the blood loss. I will no longer take chateal."

For Birth Control "I been on Chateal since Oct 2015 and the only negative thing about it is the extreme weight gain...I a profession personal trainer, very athletic eat a very well balance diet for my needs and I've gained about 12lbs... I no happy at all before Chateal I was on Orto 7/7/7 and on that pill I never gained weight, never had a problem and I had no need to get of it and go on some thing else."

For Birth Control "I am about to start my third pack of Chateal. Background on me: I'm 27 years old, married, and have had one child (almost 6yo), no other pregnancies. Before I had my daughter I had a very regular cycle. For the past few years things have become very irregular. My Dr. Has run many tests and doesn't have an explanation for it, but decided to have me try b/c pills to regulate my cycle. The first month was not great. I spotted for 2+ weeks. No other symptoms to speak of. This past month I got my period 24 hours after taking my first green (placebo) pill. Had an average period in terms of length and flow. No spotting! So I think I've adjusted to it. Hoping this month goes smoothly as well."

For Birth Control "I went to a clinic in downtown. The doctor came in with a bag of these pills without asking me what I wanted to take. I've been on 10 different pills in my lifetime, this one was really the worst. My mood swings were terrible followed by depression I've never had before. Strange breakthrough bleeding. Cry over nothing like my second trimester of pregnancy with terrible bloating. The should rename this terrible drug to something evil sounding to truly reflect what it is like. After I stopped taking it I felt normal again. The Family planning associates should really consider having their doctor take more than 2 minutes with a patient. Careless."

For Birth Control "I'm on my second month of taking this pill and I'm really considering changing to another one. I'm usually not an emotional person, but after around 2 weeks in on the pills I just got super emotional to EVERYTHING. I could start crying while eating, talking, walking. Just anytime. And I can't even tell why I'm crying and being so emotional. And I just feel depressed all the time and the moodswings. And I get irritated super easily.. And also since I started taking them I'm so tired ALL the time, all my energy is gone and I just wanna sleep. I haven't noticed either more or less acne than before. I've gained weight around my hips and thighs. But other than that I'm not pregnant so that part of the pill works.."

For Birth Control "As far as birth control goes, Chateal does its job. It definitely kept me from getting pregnant and was very easy to use as long as you can remember to take the pill at the same time everyday (setting an alarm on my phone helped me). However, it gave me horrible acne. I have struggled with acne my whole life, mostly cystic, and after only a few days my face was covered far worse than I've ever had before. I would say if you have cystic acne or are acne prone in general, do not use this product! It will only make your acne worse."

For Birth Control "I've always had extremely heavy, long periods. My depression and anxiety would flare up the week prior and I would be exhausted the two days leading up to starting of it every month. I tried a few other birth controls in the past but either had suicidal thoughts or got pregnant. I opted for Chateal through an online service because well, frankly anything was better than what my body went through naturally. I've been on Chateal for over a year now. My depressive episodes are much farther apart and come on much slower. My bleeding lightened up over time from several super plus to maybe one regular and panty liners. No nausea as others reported and I take mine in the AM with food."

For Birth Control "This was my first birth control medication and I had a pretty rough time with it. I thought it would help clear up my acne. I didn't have acne issues whatever before taking this medication and it just completely made me break out like never before. Also, I'm not much of an emotional person at all and had major mood swings and sometimes depression. Yes, it did serve it's purpose by preventing pregnancy, it did help regulate my period, and my cramps weren't as bad, however my face is literally a pepperoni face. I just got off of it 2 weeks ago and my face is starting to clear up and I'm not moody anymore. For a 19 year old college student, you definitely don't want to have acne and mood swings. I would not recommend taking this AT ALL."

For Birth Control "I've had a great experience on Chateal. I used to have terrible migraines and unbearable cramps that on more than one occasion threatened to send me to the ER (and only didn't because I couldn't stand up and walk to the car to get there), and that all stopped when I got on birth control. I started on Levora and switched to Chanteal, the transition was seamless. I haven't had any of my previous problems and...it just works. If you are the kind of person who is able to take your pill at the same time each day (and really be consistent), then I would absolutely suggest this pill."
