For Birth Control "My doctor believed I might have endometriosis, so first I was put on the Depo shot. I gained 10 lbs in a month and a half! I bled for three months straight. So I went back to my doctor and she put me on Apri. I was excited to hopefully stop bleeding and potentially lose the weight I gained. I stopped bleeding for a week and I’ve been going on bleeding for week five now. Not spotting. Bleeding. I am super nauseated, extremely moody and emotional, unbelievably hot and sweaty, crazy tired, and have zero sex drive. Oh, and how could I forget my cramps?! Which are crippling and leave me literally crying on the floor. I have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow, and I can’t wait to change to hopefully something better."

For Birth Control "I am on my 2nd pack. I switched from Triquilar because I was having breakthrough bleeding and feeling depressed. I’ve been going for tests for stomach troubles, and I have found since being on these I’m nauseous daily, so I started taking them before bed, and it has helped somewhat, but I usually go to bed queasy. I have had awful diarrhea, which I think may be from my nausea and stomach issues, that has subsided some since I started taking it at night. I have never had much sex drive, but I blame that on birth control in general. I have noticed my boobs look bigger, but I have a bit of weight on. I just can’t control my appetite and just want junk, but again not sure if it’s the pills or not. My depression seems to have subsided somewhat, but it’s Christmas, so time will tell. The worst has been my stomach issues and diarrhea. I have a referral to get my tubes tied because I just want to feel normal again."

For Birth Control "I have been on many different birth controls. All of them have caused me to become nauseous, moody, etc. Apri is the first one I've used that I have not experienced any of that with. It has helped regulate my periods and made the cramping less severe. My boobs grew a little, and I didn't gain any weight. The only downside is if you miss a pill, you will bleed a lot and cramp, etc., but I'm pretty sure it's like that with any birth control. Definitely worth trying."

For Birth Control "This is the first birth control I've taken. I got really nauseous from it the first day. My breasts have gotten larger, and I took it the day of my period, and it only lasted for 2 days. I have been pretty moody as well, but I think it's all just my adjusting to the pill."

For Birth Control "This has been an awful experience for me. I’m having a polyp removed from my uterus and have to go on birth control for the surgery. I’ve been on it for 2 weeks, and since the start, I’ve had extreme nausea, bad headaches, tired all the time, moody, and trouble sleeping. I just feel awful! I do NOT recommend this particular pill!!!"

For Birth Control "I used Apri for 2 years but with a gap of a few months in between. When I got on it the second time, my symptoms were different than the first time. For the first month, I was always nauseous or on the verge of throwing up within literally 30 minutes to 1 hour of taking the pill. I learned that eating right after helped a lot. But I decided to give it a go until the second month. After that first month, I was fine. I did go through a few months of increased appetite, but thank goodness I didn't gain weight somehow. Periods are not as painful, long, or heavy. My minor acne decreased. My hair is longer and stronger than it's ever been. My chest did get bigger now that I think about it. Overall, I like Apri especially since it only cost me $9."

For Birth Control "During the first month, I experienced extreme nausea and gained 5 lbs quickly! I was always hungry. The moodiness came during the 3rd pack. On my fourth pack, the new side effect I have is yeast infections! Last month, the day after my cycle, my first yeast infection. It is interfering with my sex life with my husband. Seeing that this is becoming a regular inconvenience, I will be changing my birth control indefinitely."

For Birth Control "Got almost every side effect possible with this medication. I can’t keep food down and am losing weight. Sweating and migraines 24/7. Also, random anxiety attacks for no reason at all. Wouldn’t recommend even trying it. I don’t feel like myself at all, mentally or physically, on this medication."

For Birth Control "I just finished my third pack of the pills, and overall, I have gained weight, my acne got worse. But in all honesty, I have been eating pure sh*t while on the pill and even before, so I can't really say if the acne and weight gain came from taking the pill. I also got migraines and felt nauseous sometimes. I did not get the pill to prevent pregnancy because I'm not having sex at all, lol. I just got on the pill to regulate my period, and so far, it is doing that."

For Birth Control "I get my birth control online through a birth control subscription, and they recently changed my script when I renewed my insurance information. So I switched to Apri, and since then, my life has been the worst. I feel exhausted all day, I get cramping, stabbing, awful pains that lead me to throw up. I don’t even get period cramps. I felt bloated, nauseous, had no appetite. This effectively made me feel like I was dying. I sat on my bathroom floor until 5 a.m. because the pains were so bad, and I was throwing up. Definitely don’t recommend."

For Birth Control "As far as birth control goes, well I'm not pregnant yet (and I don't use alternate protection), so I'd say it works well in that aspect, so I gave it a 6. However, I have had severe nausea, headaches (on the verge of migraines), and slight bloating. I have also been seriously tired all the time. I fall asleep all the time, anywhere, anytime, without control. I never had a problem staying awake for even a couple of days without sleep until I started taking Apri."

For Birth Control "I'd say this is a good/decent pill overall, but pills are decidedly not for me - too annoying to keep track of the time I take it each day, and my already large boobs grew! I don't think I've gained much, if any, weight other than in my chest, but I've had some nausea every day I take the active pill, and I might be running a bit warmer/sweatier than my normal temperature. I've felt a little blue, but I'm very sensitive to hormones (I have PMDD and take antidepressants for it). I know it's been effective so far because I have migraines when I ovulate and no migraines on the pill, so I'm taking that to mean I'm not ovulating! Probably just gonna use condoms from now on, though, tbh."

For Birth Control "When I first started taking Apri, which was a year ago, I found that it changed my mood a lot, making me depressed, anxious, and angry all the time for no reason. Also, I have been having lots of cravings. But on the good side, I feel like I can trust this brand of birth control a lot to keep me from being pregnant. Also, not many side effects, no headaches or nausea. I’ve now been taking it for almost a year now, and my body has been getting used to it a lot."

For Birth Control "I was only on the pack for one month and had to stop as soon as I started the second one. During the sugar pill week, I had severe migraines, which is something I never get. Those continued, and then nausea was added to it. I threw up the other day, and it looked as if I didn't digest any of my food from that day. This is definitely just a personal experience, but I am also definitely going off this pill ASAP. I got my period for 6 days, so I'm definitely not pregnant. (Also took two pregnancy tests as an extra test.) If you're looking for a pill, I would try a different brand."

For Birth Control "I switched from Lo Loestrin Fe to Apri because I was getting married and wanted to ensure I was having a monthly period (no pregnancy scares for me, thanks). I didn't experience many side effects at first, but with my first period on the new pill came painful cramping and heavy bleeding. Mind you, I hadn't had a real period in about a year thanks to Lo Lo Fe, but that sort of pain was why I started birth control in the first place. I've been on it about four months now and have seen a significant decrease in my sex drive, which, hello, sucks (newlywed, remember?). I've also seen mood swings and nausea the last couple months as my body has been adjusting, and I'm just not about that life. Switching as soon as I can."

For Birth Control "I had been on this pill in my 20s and did fine, but restarted in my 30s and have had a totally negative experience. I felt nauseous the first few days. My breasts are so sore and painful. I have two emotions: either very angry or crying. I have 0 sex drive, and I had spotting and acne. I'm also very bloated. I’m basically trying to finish this month and stop this pill so as not to mess with my period schedule. I got on it to try and stop mid-cycle spotting I was having, and it made it worse (though I know, to be fair, you need to give a pill 3 months). I was way better off off of it. Every day on it has been a challenge."

For Birth Control "I am on my fourth month of Apri, and my boyfriend and I have never had protected sex, and I have not gotten pregnant. The downfalls to Apri are that I have crazy mood swings, and it's taking a big toll on our relationship. We fight constantly, and I have horrible mood swings, and I always have nausea."

For Birth Control "Taking this to move my cycle over. My periods are typically 4 supersoaker days with some cramping - 2 days. My first month on this hellbent pill was constant cramping + nausea, 25 days of bleeding, and horrid mood swings, dark thoughts, déjà vu, and dizzy spells. Doc had me double up for the rest of this packet, now the bleeding is just sparse spots. BF is relieved to finally have sex, though it's painful because now I have low estrogen. Begged the doc to switch me to a different pill brand."

For Birth Control "This is yet another update. Just finished my 4th pack. Worst experience ever in all of the birth controls I've tried combined. Like I said in my previous review, I was on Loestrin FE, Junel, and Yasmin. This last pack made me start bleeding during the 3rd active pill week. Progressed into probably the heaviest period I've ever had. Made me nauseous and weak from the excessive blood loss. And made me so gassy to the point I felt like I couldn't breathe. I'm still on my period now, and it's been 2 weeks of nonstop bleeding. I constantly feel like passing out. Asking my doc to switch to something else."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill for 5 years in April 2023. Over the last year or two, I’ve been more anxious — my personality definitely changed. I am constantly tired no matter how much sleep I get — it has caused fights because I fall asleep every single time we lay down to watch a movie. Oh, and the migraines I get are horrendous. I can’t even open my eyes when I get them. I get them quite frequently and I’ve been to the doctor multiple times to get scans, and everything is normal. This pill gave me the biggest stomach pouch ever. I was always a twig and I’m still pretty small, but my stomach fat makes me so self-conscious, and I can’t seem to get it to go away no matter what I do. I am either so hungry ALL day, even after eating, or I am nauseous (carsick feeling). I have a weak stomach now. I have no motivation, I always used to be active. I even ran cross country, and now you have to DRAG me to the gym. I have had vaginal dryness as well."

For Birth Control "I've been on this medication for seven months. Before this, I was on YAZ for five years (with no issues), but after constant recommendations to switch birth control brands from my doctor, I made the change. I find this pill makes me extremely nauseated with terrible headaches the first week of the pills. I want to try a new one but don't know which one to try."

For Birth Control "I really had never needed birth control. I had relatively clear skin, and until I started taking Apri, I had regular periods (3 days, every five weeks). Immediately, I felt nauseated and was a lot more prone to headaches and irritability. There were also dull, lingering cramps. Then the time when my period should have normally occurred happened. The cramping and nausea became a lot more persistent, and I was spotting. Three days come and go, and it doesn't stop. The cramping and the bleeding get worse. Eight days of this. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured it was because I didn't start taking it during my period like the instructions said. But the second month was no better. I was told by the doctor who prescribed this that I should only be getting periods about once every three months, and even then it would be light. I was so miserable, and it was actually worse than my periods were before taking it."

For Birth Control "I have taken Apri for 4 years since I was 16 due to my periods being heavy and very heavy cramping, and it has been great until about the past year. I was beginning to get very nauseous on the pill, and my sex drive was extremely low, and I had never had this happen to me. My period was still very regular and happened every 28 days, but I could not deal with nausea after taking it every day."

For Birth Control "I started taking Apri because I was trying to do fertility treatments. The first day I took it, I was fine, but I felt really warm after taking it. The second day I took it, I still felt warm when taking it. I went to work and was very nauseous. I ended up vomiting all day while at work. I could barely stand up, my stomach hurt so bad. So I quit taking it. My stomach hurt for 3 days after that. Now I am supposed to be ovulating and have seemed to come on my period again, but a lighter color than usual and much lighter. But I was just on a week ago."

For Birth Control "This birth control was so bad that I had to stop after three months. I had a lot of side effects within the past three months, such as terrible acid reflux, nausea, heavy bleeding, migraines, and my face broke out terribly. This was definitely not the birth control for me."
