For Birth Control "I have taken Apri since February 2009, and I love it! I think I've gotten slightly moodier, but that is the only negative side effect I've had. My boobs have gotten much bigger, and I haven't seen the decrease in sex drive that many others are seeing. It's pretty much the same for me, and I've been on Apri for about 8 or 9 months. As far as periods go, Apri hasn't changed it very much except for the wonderful gift of knowing when it's coming. I've always had short periods (4 days average), and it hasn't changed. Overall, I love Apri."

For Birth Control "This is more of an update. Been on this for a full 3 months now, about to go on my 4th. I've always had terrible periods (cramps, heaviness, fatigue, moodiness), so I was hoping the pill could relieve some of those symptoms. So far, I've found all of the pills I've tried so far (Loestrin FE, Junel, Yasmin) haven't done a whole lot to rid of these symptoms. Apri is the same. Although my period is more predictable and more manageable in terms of pain, my 2nd and 3rd day of period is still very heavy, and I still cramp a whole lot on the 2nd day. Made my skin clearer, and no problems of weight gain either. I also am not as moody as I was on Yasmin. And no pregnancies yet, although a couple of scares since this pill can mimic pregnancy symptoms."

For Birth Control "I was on Marvelon for 10 years until my benefits plan changed, and it only covered generic brands of the birth control pill. When my pharmacist informed me, I questioned him profusely, asking if it was the same Marvelon. While I was on Marvelon for 10 years, I had no side effects and felt great on it. As soon as I started taking Apri, I became moody, irritable, and very, very gassy. It almost felt like I was pregnant. As soon as I started researching Apri vs. Marvelon, I discovered all the poor reviews. I then decided to pay out of pocket to go back on Marvelon the next month because I hated feeling horrible. I went back on Marvelon, but what happened next was a blessing in disguise. I became pregnant with my second. Apri messed up my system."

For Birth Control "Rated a 5 due to its effectiveness at preventing pregnancy, but I stopped taking it after many years of this brand or the same ingredients in different brands because I've finally realized it is the cause of my frequent migraines, terrible moodiness, and anger issues. I stopped taking it to try to conceive and had been off it for about two years. All of those side effects disappeared, at least a great deal. Now I've been back on for 6 months, and all side effects have reappeared. Please, if you are experiencing depression, anger issues, anxiety, or similar issues, don't write it off, it will begin to have a huge effect on your daily life."

For Birth Control "I have been on Apri for about two months. My sex drive is almost completely gone, which causes problems between my fiancé and me. I am also very moody all the time. I'm planning on getting a Mirena instead."

For Birth Control "I was taking Yaz for about a year and a half, and it was actually working great. I started taking Apri about 4 or 5 months ago. Yes, my periods are regular, and I am not pregnant, but my cramps are extremely painful still, and I am very moody. I also have a very diminished sex drive."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill for about two years, and to be completely honest, it has made me a crazy person. The only side effect I’ve had is how much it affects my mood. It made me super irritable and emotional on top of an insane amount of anxiety. I’ve even been put on a few different anxiety medications in the past two years. After a conversation with my doctor and doing a little research, I will be switching to a different form of BC. Not once did I think the pill was the issue."

For Birth Control "I have been on Apri for 2 1/2 weeks, and it has instantly made my hair fall out. I never had my hair literally come out of my scalp ever, and I know it's from the birth control. My baby is almost 4 months old, and prior to taking Apri, I was on Camilia, which made me have a non-stop period and no sex drive. With Apri, I've noticed I'm moodier, no sex drive, depressed, suicidal thoughts, all of which I have NEVER had any of these problems. I know it's this birth control because I'm not on any other medications. Monday, I am calling my doctor so she can put me on something else. I know this pill can work wonders for others, but everyone's body is different."

For Birth Control "This pill has worked pretty well for me. I’m 18, and I’ve had problems with my periods being very painful until I got on this pill. My period has shortened to 3-4 days and comes every 28 days. The one downside about this pill is it made me very moody and depressed for a while when I first started it."

For Birth Control "I have been using Apri for 3 months, and I have gained 10 pounds. I am vegan and eat very healthy, so it cannot be due to my alimentation. Also, I have been extremely moody. I am switching back to my old birth control. I do not recommend using it unless you don't mind being fat. Ugh."

For Birth Control "Before I start my period, I get cramps, acne, and I'm very moody on this pill. My sex drive is usually very high. This is the only pill I've ever taken, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I don't find it that bad."

For Birth Control "I switched to Apri because my insurance company didn't approve Tri Lo Marzia. I got put on birth control because of my heavy periods. After a week on Apri, I started to have migraines every 3 days. I would throw up, and it would make me really moody, and I would cry at the drop of a hat. When we told the insurance company what was going on, they wouldn't pay for the Tri Lo Marzia."

For Birth Control "Been on this for 6 months and plan on changing to a different one. My acne is ten times worse than it ever has been, and I get moody/sad crying spells where all I can do is cry for no reason."

For Birth Control "I've been on Apri for over a year. It was recommended by my doctor to slow down my heavy periods. It's done a great job doing so, but now that my periods are under control, I now use Apri for birth control. In the first month, I gained 12 lbs just around my love handles, and my breasts grew a whole cup size bigger. I'm not as interested in sex anymore either, and I'm definitely more sensitive and moody. This pill definitely helped my periods and has kept me from getting pregnant, but does have some side effects."
