Hi. Im currently seeing a suboxone dr. and have been for several months. However, last week I slipped up big time and went on a week or so long binge of oxycodone. The last time I used was monday night and have been back on my subs ever since. However I now have to see my suboxone dr. on friday morning. I always get drug tested and im really worried I wont pass this time. Besides me being an idiot for slipping up, does anyone have any opinions as to whether I can pass the test or not?
Trying to pass urine screen at my suboxone dr?

I have been taking oxycontin every 8 hrs80 mg for many years along with oxy ir 5mg inbetween so there is plenty in my system. A few months ago I gave a urine sample as required by workmans comp to let them know I am indeed ingesting the drugs not giving them away etc. My test came back false negative... no oxy found. I had taken one 80mg. 30 min before the test and as prescribed prior to that. I was floored. They sent it to an outside lab for more in depth evaluation which came back with a suspician that I had tampered with it..addded something to the urine. I could not believe this was happening as I had peed right in front of the nurse and handed her the sample. I wracked my brain trying to determine how my test could be so wrong and looked all over the internet. Ifinally concluded only one thing that could have caused the negative test. I read that people put ammonia in their urine to get a negative reading and I had spent hours that morning breathing strong ammonia fumes as I cleaned terriblystrong cat urine from an enclosed area. So there you have it..might be wortha try. I'm not judging you one way or another but these are the facts I experienced. I took nothing else.
I thought you said you tested positive in the previous question, I'm confused!! please explain... sweetpea
Hi sweetpea. The original poster wishes to test negative for oxycontin. In an effort to give him an idea on how he might accomplish that I told him how I tested negative even thoughmy system was loaded with oxy. I can't be sure why I tested neg but after much investigation I truly believe it was either a bum test as in one in a million or it was from breathing strong ammonia fumes for hours before the test. If people areusing drops of ammonia in an effort to fool the test why couldn't the same result happen by breathing ammonia. Sorry if I confused things.
No, No I am the one who is sorry!! I am a little slow sometimes, but I always get there... Thanks to you for clarifing
Thanks for sharing your experience with this situation anour advice. I appreciate you taking the time. However, I took the test this morning without altering it all and passed! Thanks anyways though!
As far as I know, opiates in pill form only last in the body system for 2-3 days. You should be fine. Drink lots of cranberry juice and water. Get some rest. Try not to slip up again... I know it's hard, but it sounds like you have been doing really well other than this past week so KEEP IT UP! Honesty is always the best answer, I'd tell your doctor that you had a slip up. They'll appreciate your honesty more than realizing your urine sample is dirty. Doctor's don't like surprises. Good luck. -Amanda
I have to agree somewhat with Amanda about the honesty issue. I used to work at an outpatient drug & alcohol treatment center and trust me, the counselors/doctors know that people are going to 'mess up'... the goal is to get you clean and keep you clean, I think the doctor will understand and if he doesn't, GET ANOTHER DOCTOR! It's not easy overcoming an addiction and it does take time, I've been there too, I know and I've also been on the other end (professionally). Of course, you're not going to get away with 'slipping up' forever, but you do need a a doctor with empathy, not sympathy!!
Thank u guys for taking time out of your days to answer my question and help me, a total stranger, out on this little problem. It shows there truly are still nice, caring ppl out there! This is my first time actually writing on one of these sites, although I do read them for advice sometimes. I doubted anyone would even respond! And thanks for not bashing me for slipping up, etc. Some ppl are down right nasty towards ppl with addictions, etc. Anyways, I passed my test this morning! Yay! And even better, I learned a good lesson. Im gonna really try and stay on the straight and narrow for good. Ive come this far and its not worth risking everything. I take life day by day though and will battle this for a while to come im sure! Thanks again!
