When giving blood, and the needle passes completely through the vein instead of insiders it, causing bleeding into surrounding tissue. What is that called!

I had 2 stints placed in my heart veins 3 years ago. I have been taking Plavix since then. Can I stop taking Plavix? Would it be beneficial for me to stay on Plavix? I do not have any problems except for bruising.
