Drinking too much alcohol can raise blood pressure to unhealthy levels.
If you have high blood pressure it is recommended that you avoid alcohol or drink alcohol only in moderation.
Alcohol will not interact with Metoprolol.
Metoprolol is a prescription medicine licensed to treat several conditions related to the heart and blood vessels. It is part of a class of drugs called beta blockers.
It is generally not recommended to drink while being on Metoprolol, maybe occasionally a small drink would be acceptable, however do talk to the doc/pharmacist who prescribed the med for more details.
I take Metoprolol and have given up drinks, take care.
Best wishes!
