Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "I fell over a year ago and have had chronic back pain ever since. I have bulging discs in L3,4 and 5, degenerating discs, and spinal stenosis. I have tried Norco, which no longer works. I recently tried Nucynta (no pain relief and very tired side effects), so I am sticking with the Opana. Overall it does a pretty good job with pain. I just feel like my tolerance is building up over the 9 or so months I have been taking it. I take 20 ER first thing in the morning, and 10 mg IR one or two more times during the day. I still take Norco for breakthrough pain, but even that doesn't seem to touch the pain anymore... I recommend Opana for pain relief and I can still work with a clear head!"

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I am fused from C3 to C7 and from L1 to S1. I have nerve damage because of a botched operation. I have taken this medicine for 3 years. It is the only drug I have been able to take for this length of time and not have to titrate it up. I would take it forever but my insurance company has decided that I only need two tablets a day. I currently take 2 x 40mg ER tabs 3 times a day. This was a great medicine for me and anyone on long term use should at least try it."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "I am permanently disabled due to brain surgery leaving me with a condition called occipital neuralgia (headaches 24/7). Opana is a wonder drug for me. I tried every single other treatment I could find, from physical cures, psychological cures, to every other narcotic available. It is now time for me to get off of the drug because my body has finally become used to this pain enough where I hope that I do not need drugs for the rest of my life. Right now I am taking Opana 40mg ER X 4 = 160mg ER and Opana 10mg X 4 = 40mg per day. My total Opana consumption daily is 200mg. I just finally got up enough guts to ask my doctor to cut my dosage back so I am going to try to cut the Opana 40mg ER down to Opana 30mg ER X 4 = 120mg ER."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "Opana 20mg doesn't take away all the neck & back pain but does about 90% so I can function. However also for first time in my life gives me headaches, hot flashes, warm blooded 4-5 of 7 days a wk & slightly edgey/difficulty with stress/adversity sometimes too."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "When I first started taking this medicine, it was not working and I was upset that I switched from the Roxicontin 30s. I changed back to my original script but a new doctor convinced me to try the Opana once again. I took the doctor's advice and this time it worked-actually quite well. I am virtually pain free and able to play with my kids again."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "Opana is a great pain killer but relief lasts only 4-5 hours. One has to take another pain killer such as hydrocodone in conjunction with Opana. Also, Opana cost me $400 a month for sixty 60mg pills. My doctor switched me to Morphine-sulfate. I'll let you know how I go on this medicine."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "This prescription is extremely expensive, with my insurance its $291.00, my Doc gave me a discount card and the pharmacist still said the cost would be $291.00. What's the purpose of the discount card. Can anyone help me with any information on how I can reduce the cost of this prescription ?"

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "I was currently taking Exalgo 12 mg 1 daily and 2 mg Dilaudid 2 daily. It started not to work so my doctor put me on Opana 40 mg 2 daily and kept my Dilaudid. So far taking Opana is great, it last long enough to take my second dose and I couldnt be happier. "

For Pain "In addition to Complex Regional Pain Syndrome I suffer from constant pain in my hip, femur and knee, L-4,5 disk herniations, spinal stenosis, spondylosis to start. I was thrown from a car as a passenger without seatbealts fracturing my hip, femur and my right foot pointed South. My experience taking Oxymorphone is an excellent one. I recommend it to anyone seriously looking for pain relief. I take 30 mg Oxymorphone ER X 2, Ketamine Hcl(compounded for $125 a month) 10 mg X 3 and Oxycodone 30 mg X 4 for Bt pain. Oxymorphone is the best ER opioid for 9-10 hour relief I have taken. Tried them all. If looking for pain relief, Oxymorphone is the best by a mile, hydromorphone is a distant second."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I have had two lower back surgeries (L4-L5) and (L5-S1) which has left me with severe pain in both feet and severe sciatica in the left leg radiating down to my left foot. I have tried Oxycontin and oxycodone with limited success. Now I take Opana ER 20 mg twice daily with about level 1 to 2 pain instead of the constant level 4 to 5 pain reaching level 7-8 when the dose wore off."

For Pain "I was in a motorcycle wreck when I was younger. I almost lost my leg. Was in the hospital 4 months. I couldn't walk for 2 years. Found a new doctor. He operated on it and it healed but I started having problems. My leg was 2 inches shorter then the other. I had broke my leg in 3 places. Messed up the nerves and all my toes got broke. As each year went by my foot started turning into a club foot. After 17 operations and was told I need an ankle replacement but my doctor told me operation doesn't last and the down time is long. I have chronic pain and I get migraines. Over the years I have been on many different pain meds. Oxymorphone ER has given me more relief then any other. Endo pulling Opana ER but Global has Oxymorphone ER"

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I have been on pain medicines for over 10 years. I've tried it all. I was taking oxycodone 2 x 80mg plus 2 x 40mg plus 6 roxicodone 30mg a day. My pain doctor switched me to 2x40 plus 2x20 Opana plus with the same roxicodone a day. This helped some. I had built up a tolerance to oxycodone. Last month she changed the roxicodoen to 4x10mg Opana for break through pain. Now I have my life back. This is the first time in years I have been able to get up and get around. I have had a pain pump before and was going to get another one but after this switch as of now I don't need it. If Opana is not working you may need a higher dose if you are able to take it. Don't give up. "

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "Was very disappointed with the opana 10E round peach pill. They did not help my pain at all. I have taken a 40 mg. before and they worked wonders. I took over my doctors dosage instructions after a while because it was not helping and I was in so much pain after my surgery. I ended up taking 5 within an hour and was still in pain and sick as a dog. So I just stopped taking them all together as they are very addictive and did NOT wont any addictions especially sense they were useless. Very DISAPPOINTED!"

For Pain "I have Degenerative Disc Disease and have had 12 spine surgeries and countless injections etc. I have pretty much been tried on everything on the market with no good results until...Opana ER. I have been on this for at least 8 years and I have to say (the old formula) its been the only thing that has brought any relief to me. Then they went and changed it to the new formula and all of a sudden it was like taking plain aspirin. "

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I suffer from chronic neck/upper back pain due to spinal stenosis; spinal spondylosis; cervical neuralgia, etc. I've had multiple anterior and posterior fusions (c5-c/7) and revisions due to pseudoarthrosis (non-fusion). I've been on opioids for 7 years. Due to insurance coverage, my pain doc switched me from kadian (10mg 2x/day) to Opana ER (5mg 2x/day) and I immediately experienced a HUGE increase in pain. I also take Percocet (10/325) for breakthrough pain. I experienced minor withdrawal symptoms, which I thought was odd since I was actually taking slightly more morphine daily. My pain doc explained it was due to how the body metabolizes kadian. Opana did nothing for me."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "Find the use of these to be easy to take, and has been very helpful to me. I have had no side effects, other than the 12 hour ends a little bit less than this! Have found that taking them at 12 hour intervals has not been quite right. I see that sometimes I have a little less than 12 hour help, and other times have gone 14 to 15 hours and been fine. Depends on digestion maybe. Urinalysis showed the rate in my body to be less sometimes and not sure why? Do know that while I was sick with the flu, I wasn't able to keep down these, and did have side effects of withdrawals."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I switched to Opana ER this year as the Morphine ER I had been forced to take since last summer made me very nauseated (even w/nausea meds), caused terrible headaches and didn't cover my pain adequately so I could live some sort of life. I have loved the Opana ER. I take 40 mg twice a day and after the first month in which the switchover was difficult there have only been a few occasions where after I took the drug I started going through withdrawal. I'm not sure what was wrong with the pills as I set an alarm to take them and confirmed I took them. Now am in donut hole. Endo pharm won't help because there is a generic which costs more than the Opana. Don't know what to do."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "For years, I have had L1-L2 pain from a compression fracture and moderate disc degeneration. The pain relief from this is so much better than anything else I have taken, and I can go about my normal life without feeling drugged up like Oxycontin or other narcotic pain killers. Not 100% relief yet though. I've only had it for a few weeks and my doctor and I are still working to find the right dosage. I'm on 15mg every 8 hours at the moment and will probably move up to 20mg soon. It's very promising though."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I have tried many different medications and therapies for my lower back pain to no avail. I swiched doctors, and he prescribed Opana 20mg, 2x a day. It is by far the most effective pain medication I have tried, with the fewest side effects. Once you adjust to the sedation, all that remains is phenomenal pain relief."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I recently started on Opana ER 20 mg, every 12 hours with Opana 5 mg as needed (up to two) for break through pain. Opana is amazing. I have very little break through pain and it's not bad at all. I have no side effects from the Opana and was taking a total of 60 mg's of Norco (per 24 hours) prior to this. The best thing is no more horrible pain like when the Norco was wearing off. I feel human again and can shop and do things I did before I got hurt. I would like to note that I have read a lot of things on various web sites that seem as though people are looking to get high from pain medicines as opposed to live pain free from them. After I had my surgery a year ago I had that horrible feeling of being "stoned" from simple Hydrocodone and I hated it."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I was placed on this drug when it was first released. I suffer from acute, chronic lower back pain despite 3 back surgeries including fusion. I was on Vicodin, Diluadid, methadone, Neurontin, Cymbalta and Percocet. It was a whirlwind, often chasing my pain. Opana ER40/dosage every 8 hrs. came out, my pain level dropped considerably, no longer chasing my pain. No longer on Diluadid, Vicodin or Percocet. Opana was a God Send for me to manage my pain effectively. I used it for YEARS successfully. The only side effect, at times it made me drowsy. Otherwise, it was great. It totally sucks that abuse/misuse caused people who needed it and used it properly had to be sacrificed, penalized for these reasons. I didn't see Vicodin, Dilladid, demoral or morphine discontinued. So now I'm in the same boat I was before just because some moron in the bureaucracy of Washington wanted to make noise and claim he was diminishing the opiate crisis by having this drug discontinued.!!!!!!!!"

For Pain "Best painkiller available. Fewest side-effects, subtle onset (no perceived "rush"), least mental or physical impairment, easiest of any opioid/opiate for titration and reduction once painful condition improves. The newer "crush-resistant" formula gives me a headache and stomach pain, and is often passed completely intact in stool."

For Pain "I was in awful motorcyle wreck. Have had 17 operations and may need new ankle. Have been given many pain meds over the years. Oxymorphone works better on my pain than another pain med I have ever been prescribed. The new Opana that came out last year didn't work at all. My pain kept me from doing things like cleaning my house or playing with the grandkids etc. I don't know what they did to the New Opana but they do not help pain much at all. I am now taking a generic Oxymorphone. I am starting to live my life a little more. I don't have as much pain plus they cost me less which is good."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I have taken many things for my pain. I have had a level 3 spinal fusion and need more back surgery. My doctor gave me Opana and kept me on my oxycodone for break through pain. What a huge relief and not only that but the Opana did not give me that high feeling and I'm able to get around like a human again. I have to say the Opana gave me at least 8 hrs of relief and I was able to sleep and get up the next morning and move, where as before I woke up so stiff, sore and could hardly move."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "Just started taking 5 mg twice a day. Doesn't seem to last as long as the doctor said it would. Also the 5mg doesn't take the pain away. It does ease it a little. So on my next visit I will tell the doctor her calculation was off. Think I would do better on 20mg twice daily. Also if she could give me something else to advance my stool and make it softer. That pain is worse than the knee pain."
