Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "I have been on Opana ER 60 mg 3x a day for over a year now for chronic back pain. It is wonderful. Nothing has ever worked for me like it has. Not fentanyl patches, not oxys, nothing. I suggest any of you have a genetic test done by your pain doctor. I did. It allows your doctor to be able to tell what pain meds work for you the best. It isn't always about what med is the strongest, it's about what your body will use."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "I have had a lot of back pain for a few years, but since my doctor has put me on Opana, I have never felt better. I can go about my life without the worry of being in so much pain at the end of the day. What a relief it has been. A pure Godsend."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "Has been a lifesaver to me. I have a very long history with trauma and it has caused me a lifetime of serious pain: CRPS, fibromyalgia, PTSD. All my doctors had said the pain was 'in my head,' and hearing someone who SHOULD understand that you can have unimaginable pain due to trauma combined with other neurological and psychiatric issues. Thanks to my psychiatrist for prescribing this for me. It's helped with my depression, anxiety, and insomnia as well. My doctor and I have an incredible bond... A bond that has taken years, decades, to build the most respected form of trust. I DO NOT MESS WITH NOR USE MY MEDICATIONS FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT I'M PRESCRIBED. I keep my RXs to myself and hidden well. Do not mess with medicine. NOT INTENDED FOR RECREATIONAL USE, EVER!!!!"

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I've been on pain meds for 30 years. Changed to Opana ER 20 x 2. This made a large difference but still had breakthrough pain, so Dr. added Opana IR 10 mg. These I break up into thirds, halves, or quarters as needed. I couldn't use Norco because of breathing problems. This dosage isn't perfect, but I'm no longer whining every time I get in or out of the car. Two major surgeries coming over the summer. I hope Opana continues to work."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I recently had a back operation and was put on Roxicodone and 20 mg Opana ER. It works very well in my opinion. I am able to move around more and not sleep all day due to pain. I would recommend it for anyone with chronic or severe pain."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I have been in terrible lower back pain for over 2 years. After numerous MRIs and other tests and a lot of different doctors, nothing showed up that should be causing that much pain. They did find a problem in my L1 disc but nothing major. I have a very high tolerance for pain and could barely function. All the different doctors put me on Vicodin 10/325, but it only worked for an hour. The doctors treated me as if I was a drug addict, even my pain management doctor. After I took a so-called routine drug test, my very next visit after she saw I passed my drug test, she put me on Opana ER 20mg. Instantly my back pain was 90% gone. I don't feel high, just pain-free. I forgot what that felt like. My pain level went from a 10 to a 3 instantly."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "I have been on various medications for years, some have been Lortab, non-narcotic pain medications, MS Contin, OxyContin, and fentanyl patches. I was on 150 micrograms of fentanyl every 48 hours before switching to Opana ER. Initially, I was taking 20 mg of Opana twice a day, and it was not sufficient for my pain, but I couldn't handle the side effects of the fentanyl patches (narcolepsy), so I worked with my doctor to increase my dosage and frequency, so that I now take 30 mg twice a day and 20 mg once a day. It is expensive, but I am finally able to live a near-normal life. I play with my kids, I don't miss work, and I even keep the house up (with great help from my better half). Opana ER has been great for pain relief with almost no side effects!"

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "My doctor currently has me on Opana ER 5 mg every 12 hours, and let me tell you, it's a Godsend. I was taking 4 or 7 Norco 10 mg a day, every 4 hours, because I was always in so much pain. Now, since my doctor switched me from Norco to Opana ER, the results have been amazing. I no longer have pain constantly, and whenever I walk a long way, I still sometimes have pain, but on a scale of 1-10, the pain is only a 2. I'm so thankful for this medicine because now I'm no longer in pain, and another good thing about this medication is I don't have any side effects, nor do I get that fuzzy feeling that other opioids give you. I highly recommend anyone who has chronic severe lower back pain to talk with your doctor about switching to Opana ER."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "10 years pain sufferer. Opana ER was my godsend. 40 mg, night and evening, and only using Percocet for breakthrough. Very rarely. I have a life back. I tried every medicine out there and never had this relief. Mind you, been taking so long, no high effect, just pain control. Those looking for a quick high, not for you. Time released. Sad to have to say that, but great med when used for the right reason."

For Pain "When I first started out in pain management, I must have tried 4-5 different meds. First Morphine and Oxycodone. It worked okay but my tolerance to the Oxycodone went way too high working my way to 30 mg. I had enough of it because I started to take more. I am NOT going to turn myself into an abuser. So I talked to him and he put me on Dalaudid. I suffer from horrible moods swings and this one made me so depressed. So he took me off all of those combos and put me on Oxycontin ER and Oxymorphone for break through pain. Well let me tell ya, that was it. No depression and my pain is so much better. So I am out of pain, living a productive life again . I will say this to all the people in pain management and taking their meds RIGHT, don't ever let anyone judge you for taking care of you. Because if you are doing what you are suppose to do, then screw em."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "Doesn't matter what any of us leave in a post, as street drug addicts have made the FDA decide to pull our Opana ER. Because they melt it and shoot it up is how it was described to me, as I was very upset! My question to the FDA and the government... WHAT ABOUT US PEOPLE THAT NEED IT AND USE IT AS TOLD? Very upset chronic back pain (scoliosis)... plus other issues."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I just started this medication a few days ago, and I am on 10 mg twice per day. I would have to say it works very well on my neck and back pain and my nauseating migraines, which all result from a car accident, and I'm only 23 years old. I luckily have a very nice, understanding doctor and know what I'm going through, and he has never turned me down when I've needed an increase or change in meds."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I was on the Fentanyl patches 100 mg every 2 days. Then my doctor put me on Opana 40, 3 times a day, and I think they work just as good, if not better. It didn't give me the anxiety or weird feelings I get off certain pain pills."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "The doctor had me on 100 mg of morphine ER 2x a day, the side effects were really bad. He put me on Opana ER 40 mg 2x a day and Opana IR 5 mg for breakthrough pain. It's the best pain medication I've ever been on. I have spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, and osteoarthritis. I was in terrible pain before Opana, now at least I can stand to be alive again."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "After being on 80 mg of OxyContin 3 times a day, I wasn't getting the pain relief. I went through breakthroughs, and my insurance would only cover generic oxy. I saw a new pain doc, and the nurse practitioner switched me to Opana, only 30 mg twice a day. My breakthrough meds stay locked up unless I'm doing something special. I always take Opana with food (instructions say take on an empty stomach) as I found taking it with food makes it last longer. Due to insurance, I had to switch to 15 mg, 2 tabs, twice a day. I found this gives me some flexibility. If I'm having a tough day, I may take one around 5 pm and then only one at bedtime. Medicare sucks, though. I hit the gap about 6 months ago and found out I have to pay 4,800+ till it's done."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "Let me start by saying this medication is awesome! I have MS, chronic pain syndrome, chronic joint pain, lipoma pain, degenerated disks, and lots more, and I have tried literally every ER pain med on the market, and not one of them seems to do half as much as this medication. I take Dilaudid 8 mg for breakthrough pain with it after a few hours, and they both are like brother and sister, work so well together. Now the only thing with this medication is that it is very expensive as the brand, but some places do carry it in generic. I end up paying $40 a month with insurance, without insurance, it's near $1200. Hopefully, when I get on Medicaid, they will cover it, but again, it works (ER) wonders. If you can afford it, give it a shot."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "Currently taking 2 x 10 mg ER and up to 4 x 5 mg IR. Tolerance has developed quickly, what used to take the pain away only halfway dulls it now. My doctor is not convinced of my pain. I have asked for more, but he, without coming right out and saying no, has refused me an increased dosage. My advice is, even though Opana works well initially, you will develop tolerance rapidly and require more in order to provide pain relief. I do have several bulging discs, but for some reason, my doctor does not see this as cause to increase the dose—only continue the same dose that I began with about 9 months ago. Sorry for the rant, but it may be something you might not have considered if I had not brought it up. From what I have gathered from independent research on Opana and Oxycodone, Opana has the greatest tolerance increase potential between the two."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "Been taking Opana for 15 months now and couldn't be happier. Diagnosed with DDD in my L-4, L-5, S-1, scoliosis, and fibromyalgia 3 years ago. My PM doctor put me on MS Contin 60 mg 2x a day, which I had an allergic reaction to… My feet and legs swelled up. He then put me on a fentanyl patch 75 mcg, which my body did not tolerate, I ended up getting pains down my neck and severe nausea. A guy ran a red light and T-boned my side of the car. In the hospital, they gave me dilaudid for pain, which completely took my pain away. My doctor decided at that point to put me on EXALGO 12.5 mg 1x a day. Worked better than anything! Insurance stopped covering it, GAHH. Put me on Opana ER 20 2x a day and IR 3x a day. Amazing! No side effects!!!"

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "Insurance required me to use Opana ER crush-resistant version! Takes about 2 hrs. to take effect, so I take hydrocodone/acetaminophen 10/325 with 1 Opana upon waking, and together they last about 8 hours, NEVER 12 hours! Then take 1 hydrocodone/acetaminophen about 4 pm, then another hydrocodone/acetaminophen about 9 pm, then 1 Opana at 11 pm. I tried using Opana alone but couldn't stand waiting IN PAIN for 2 hours before I could feel any relief! Regular Oxycontin DID provide 12-hour relief without needing any Vicodin for 'breakthrough pain,' but even with insurance, it would cost $100/month. Pain level with Opana AND Vicodin still at about 5 but chronic pain after FIVE hip replacement surgeries - 2 on left hip, 3 on right, since 2008!!"

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "I took ONE dose of 20mg of Opana ER. I became dizzy, woozy, lightheaded. I developed a POUNDING headache! I became EXTREMELY agitated and anxious. I became VERY shaky. My lower back pain INCREASED, not decreased. Seven hours after taking this one dose, I had projectile vomiting. "

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I've been on opioids (oxycodone mostly) since my accident in 1996. Approximately 24 months ago I was up to six 30mg oxycodones daily. This allowed me to have some quality of life-moderate physical activity. Then my state took up the anti-oxycodone crusade. My doctor has me trying everything except oxycodone or OxyContin-the goal is to get completely away from those two (due to pressure from the government). My daily oxycodone is down to three 30mg plus three 30mg Opana ER (tamper proof). Right off the bat, my pain went up. The Opana 30 ER has zero effect regarding pain management. The main side effect is nodding off. Example: it has taken me 36 minutes to write this. Unless I am actively moving, I nod off-I dare not drive. Pain 7-8 daily."

Opana ER (oxymorphone) for Pain "I have degenerative disks in L-1 through L-4, with herniation in L-4, L-5, and S-1. Also have nerve root damage, which causes pain radiating to my left hip, left leg, and bottom of feet. I take 2 Opana ER 20 mg tablets a day. Opana ER works fairly well on controlling my back pain, while it's not eliminated totally, I'm able to function better on most days with the help of Lortab 10 mg for breakthrough pain along with my Opana ER."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "I have neck and back pain requiring fusion surgery, already had two laser procedures on them. Only thing I haven't taken is fentanyl. Started with a morphine Avinza, Dilaudid combination, to Dilaudid and oxycodone combination to straight up 8 x 30 mg Roxicodone and Xanax daily. Pain relief with that was amazing and cheap. However, with that being said, I asked my doctor about switching. Since I was on such strong medicines, I was able to get 2 x 20 mg Opana ER daily along with 5 Opana IR. Have been on this four months now, and it's the best relief I have had in five years."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "The doctor's instructions were to take 1-2-or 3 tablets at bedtime for cervical pain. I tried 3 on 3 different evenings and, unfortunately, had absolutely no pain relief. I also tried for pain in hip and thigh with no results. (I do have a very high pain threshold and, consequentially, need strong pain meds). Haven't yet found drug for pain relief at night."

Opana (oxymorphone) for Pain "Opana has worked better than anything I have been prescribed. I have several bulging discs, 4 in the lower back and 4 mid back. I was taking 3000 milligrams of Vicodin daily, 8 to 10 x 325 mg tabs. Now, I take 2, 20 milligram Opana daily, and only 2 or 3 Vicodin as needed. Be sure to take Opana on an empty stomach, and don't eat for about 2 hours. Opana is incredible, my next doctor's visit, I will request a slightly higher dose and quit the Vicodin altogether. Thank you, Opana!"
