For Uterine Fibroids "I had the Lupron shot on 1st July 2019 for fibroids. It was fine for the first 2 weeks. Just slight breast soreness and general signs like I was gonna get my period. After the first 2 weeks, I started getting hot flashes, fatigue and memory loss. Had a lot of problems recalling thoughts. I never bled since I had the shot which was weird. I thought I'd get one last major period or something. I had surgery to remove my fibroid in early September. The fibroid never shrank. Guess the jab didn't work on me. I'm still getting the hot flashes and the body aches as well as fatigue has gotten worse. I also gained weight! I found the drug increased my appetite. I still haven't gotten my period yet. Kind of happy about that but worried my hormones are all messed up. For reference, I'm 40 years old."

For Endometriosis "I was actually on Lupron Depot for 18 months. My periods stopped within a week and my pain was gone within the first month. I almost didn't go on it because of the horror stories I read online, but I'm glad I did. My skin broke out more than normal, but nothing a little makeup couldn't hide. The hot flashes were intense at first, but slowly started to subside. After six months they completely stopped. I also fully understand night sweats. The side effects were well worth it to me since I no longer have cramps that hurt so bad I pass out. I am also enjoying being period free after never having a regular cycle and being anemic the better part of my life."

For Uterine Fibroids "This shot did not shrink my fibroids uterus before my operation. As a matter fact they grew. It’s going on four months since I’ve had the shot, already had my operation. Do still have my ovaries. I’m still getting hot flashes. I have a headache every day of different levels. The nausea almost went away. Hot flashes are worse at night so I’m losing a lot of sleep. The last three weeks my legs are aching every day when I get up. I have no desire to have sex. This is definitely miserable. My doctor said the effects of the lupron would be gone in three months but they’re still here. I don’t recommend the shot for anybody for any reason."

For Endometriosis "Hi, I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis in April of 2017. My situation was a little different because the disease went into my colon and shut down my bowel system. After two surgeries my doctor recommended I go on Lupron for 6 months. After reading the reviews, I told my doctor no. I was scared out my mind. He insisted and I finally agreed. I just took my last shot of my 6mo treatment and in the beginning I experienced the hot flashes but I was given Northein pills to offset it and it worked. I didn't bleed, I occasionally had sweats, nausea or an upset stomach. However; I can't say anything really bad about the drug. I'm glad I took it. I think it depends on the individual body but I will say you have to give your system time to adapt to the drug."

For Uterine Fibroids "I am 28 with a 21cm x 13cm uterine fibroid. I was told me surgery would be risky and would leave me with a scar from under my chest to my pelvic area, since I am only 28 and would like to have children of my own they decided to put me on Lupron for 6 months to shrink the fibroid by hopefully 50% and have a much smaller and less risky surgery. Went on the shot in June, with the first month being the hardest, with headaches, night sweats, hot flashes and my first period being very heavy and lots of clots. But I am on my 2 shot month 2.5 months in and I can say most of those symptoms went away, I only get hot flashes which are definitely bearable."

For Uterine Fibroids "Received one shot for three full months. Nearing the end . Major side effects were the hot flashes and some weird feeling of uneasiness. I would not take it again. Hot flashes are not cool. Just had ultrasound and will be seeing doctor soon to see if shot was a success in killing cysts. The drug may work but wow all these side effects."

For Uterine Fibroids "I had very heavy periods. My doctor offered lupron shot. I decided to go with 2 lupron shots hopping it would shrink my fibroid. Instead, my fibroid grew bigger. It caused me horrible headaches with strongest pain killers not helping. After each shot my period would not stop for a month (at least it was not heavy). Hot flushes were horrible. Good night sleep was gone. I would wake up multiple times a night all drenched in sweat. After effect of lupron wore out and my period re-started it was as heavy as before. The only benefit I got was not having a period for few months (with some bleeding in between), but at a very high price (side effects and actual price). I think as heavy as my period was it was better to have my period for few days a month, than having frequent very bad headaches and constant hot flashes. I would not recommend it based on my experience. I would not have it done if I would have to decide today."

For Endometriosis "Lupron is a HORRIBLE medication. Many medical "professionals" are not forthcoming with their patients about all the side effects, or the long term side effects that continue well after Lupron is stopped. They also don't tell you it can kill you, or disable your life. This medication sent my life in a tailspin (of course I was lied too- being told all the positive, and common things you will find on any site about Lupron) I will never return back to normal. Just like so many others. I am now having to go for disability thanks to Lupron, and the negligence of of the doctor who gave It to me. Do IN DEPTH RESEARCH! Know your facts! I do not recommend this medication Not only does it damage your body in many ways, but it's put me into a living nightmare!"

For Uterine Fibroids "I developed several fibroids in my late 40s that caused very heavy bleeding. I opted for a hysterectomy and was given one shot of Lupron about 3 months prior in the hope that it would shrink the fibroids before I had surgery. I cannot say that it shrunk them (my uterus size was comparable to a 5-month pregnancy), but it did stop my periods immediately and that it made it worth it to me. The only side effect I ever experienced were extremely painful cramps a few times (once so bad I had to pull off the road because I was driving). Still worth it."

For Uterine Fibroids "I was bleeding 24/7 and anemic due to a large fibroid. First I tried Depo Provera shots, which didn't work. All bleeding stopped about a week and a half after my first Lupron shot. At this point, it's only been a month, so I don't know if I'll still need a hysterectomy. "

For Uterine Fibroids "Had a large pedunctulated fibroid tumor on my uterus- shot was administered , they found my fibroid got larger after 3 months. Had to have a partial hysterectomy to have it removed so I could sit, drive and have sex without being uncomfortable or bleeding. I had every side effect which was miserable. I had extreme hair loss (thinning) and I'm still trying to grow it back... this drug did not work for me. It has been over a year."

For Uterine Fibroids "I had the 3 month 11.25mg on 3/30/2015 to shrink my giant fibroid to the size that the laparoscopic myomectomy can be performed. I had no symptom of side effects for the first month and also having my period but ever since the second month (May) the side effects were really hitting me hard; including hot flashes and night sweat. Had my surgery at the end of June and my doctor confirmed that I had reacted to the Lupron more thanexpected as the fibroid not only shrink but part of it was degenerated. So Instead of a 2 hours operation, it ends up to be a 6 hours. Now, it's been 5 months and the Lupron still lasting (period still not back yet), don't know when it will be gone..."

For Uterine Fibroids "I am 48 yrs old. I was bleeding nonstop for over a year due to a large fibroid.....and I was in much pain. In Jan 2019 I started my Lupron 3 month shot, and I’ve had two more shots since then (every three month). I have not bled since Jan. My 6cm centrally located fibroid shrunk to 5cm within 6 months. My uterus reduced in size from 10cm to 8cm. I was anemic but my blood levels are back to normal now. I do get hot flashes often. My hair is thinning and dry. My biggest problem is bone pain in my fingers /toes. But that’s nothing compared to how bad I felt when I was bleeding. I have been very moody at times over the past 10 months. I’m supposed to schedule one more dose of the shot before my doctor will decide what to do next, hoping I can just start menopause so I don’t have to have surgery. I also have multiple sclerosis. But so far the MS flair up, due to this fibroid, is minimal."

For Prostate Cancer "I have been on lupron for 6 months (2 of the three month injections). This drug is very effective in slowing the prostate cancer growth. Testosterone is the fuel for PC. My testosterone level went from 840 to 11 in three weeks after my first injection! However, there surely are side-effects. Mine are: 1. Fatigue and low energy with breathlessness upon exercise. 2. Hot flashes 3. low red blood cell count (anemia). 4. Lack of sexual desire and unable to perform. 5. Shrunken testicles and penis. The side-effects are frustrating...but you can tough them out. God has given me strength, and without my faith...this would be much tougher. My wife has been an angel with her constant support. Goodluck!"

For Endometriosis "I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Endometriosis and had a major surgery. I was only able to take four of the six shots. The side effects are TERRIBLE. I had almost all of them. I took my last shot in March 2015. It has been one month and I am now experiencing panic and anxiety attacks along with high blood pressure. I am only 37 and gained weight now weighing 155 and have a blood pressure of 142/103. I have never had high blood pressure until the third month of the shot. I have hot flashes, night sweats, chest pains that sent me to the ER, vaginal discharge, painful intercourse, vomiting of the day I got the shot. It has been an awful experience. I am praying that when it gets all out of my system, I will not see any of these side effects anymor"

For Uterine Fibroids "I love that it completely stopped my outrageous heavy bleeding, which in turn made me anemic. So I am happy for that. However, the only side effect that I am experiencing is super dry skin on my arms, neck and face...I feel it is aging me overnight. Some constipation, and not really hot flashes but warm spells every now and then. Can't wait for surgery to get my hormones back to work."

For Prostate Cancer "Had a prostatectomy in Oct. 2019 and PSA rose in April 2020. Took bicaltumide pills and a lupron injection in Aug 2020. second injection in Jan 2021. The next injection is May 2021. My side effects are mostly really bad hot flashes day and night, extra fat around waist, got the mood thing going. My wife said I should talk to doc before next dose. I also got an inguinal hernia after surgery . It is a hard drug to live with but at 71 years old I'll take every day. I see the doc next month for a checkup after a blood test. I also had 39 radiation visits in Jan 2021. I hope my PSS is still around 0.034 due to lupron. I have to take a total of 5 injections which have been every 4 months. Good luck to people who have to take this route."

For Endometriosis " I had severe cervical dysplasia requiring a portion of my cervix be removed, chronic pain, PCOS, and was diagnosed with severe endometriosis following laproscopic removal of many adhesions from my uterus and scarring of my ovaries. My OB recommended I do six to nine months of Depot lupron after my laproscopy to keep the Endo at bay and help reduce scarring. I started out with the one month shot and felt okay, a little achey and some hot flashes. I went back to got the three month shot. I was miserable but my OB really pushed me to keep going with it. I am on my second three month shot and I am not me anymore. I am moody, extremely depressed, my bones hurt, I've gained 20lbs, I'm fatigued, anxious, have insomnia, headaches, and have had horrible gastrointestinal symptoms. It is ruining my marriage. My work performance has suffered. I am foggy and forgetful. Everything is an effort. I will not be getting the last shot and hope this hasn't caused irreversible damage!!!"

For Uterine Fibroids "This ruined my life! I don't recommend it. Get a surgery, and if you get pregnant, get a C-section. This drug (6 injections) was recommended by my doctor. The only choice he gave me and he didn't tell me the lifetime side effects. There was just the 6 months suspension of periods, (sweats, moods). In 2005 I was 32 years old, recently married, and we wanted to have children. Now, I'm 47 yrs old, we didn't have children anyway and I don't lubricate, it hurts when have sex, and my libido its gone, all this for the last 15 years, and I think for the rest of my life."
