Along with its needed effects, iodine topical (the active ingredient contained in Iodine Tincture Decolorized) may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Rare

  • Blistering, crusting, irritation, itching, or reddening of skin

Symptoms of overdose (when swallowed)

  • Abdominal or stomach pain
  • diarrhea
  • fever
  • nausea
  • not being able to pass urine
  • thirst, severe
  • vomiting
