This drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.
US FDA pregnancy category: C
Comments: Examination using radiopharmaceuticals in a woman of childbearing potential should be performed during the first few (approximately 10) days following the onset of menses.
Animal reproductive studies have not been conducted. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy.
US FDA pregnancy category C: Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
Xenon xe-133 Breastfeeding Warnings
Due to the potential for adverse reactions in nursing infants, formula feedings should be substituted for breast-feeding.
The manufacturer makes no recommendation regarding use during lactation.
