Thyrotropin alpha Pregnancy Warnings

Thyrotropin alfa has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Animal studies have not been reported. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Thyrotropin alfa should only be given during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.

There are no data on the excretion of thyrotropin alfa into human milk. The manufacturer recommends that caution be used when administering thyrotropin alfa to nursing women.
