Animal reproduction studies have not been conducted.
It is not known whether Tc99m mebrofenin can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman or if it can affect reproductive capacity.
FDA pregnancy category C: Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.

Use mebrofenin only if clearly needed and benefit outweighs potential risk.
Mebrofenin Breastfeeding Warnings
The manufacturer recommends substitution of formula feedings for breast feedings.
Breast-feeding is not recommended.

The effects in the nursing infant are unknown.
