Alvimopan Breastfeeding Warnings

There are no data on the excretion of alvimopan into human milk. Alvimopan and its 'metabolite' are detected in the milk of lactating rats. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk, the manufacturer recommends that caution be used when administering alvimopan to nursing women.
