Tamaflu is a common misspelling of Tamiflu (oseltamivir).
What is Tamiflu (Tamaflu)?
Tamaflu is an antiviral. It works by stopping the flu virus from reproducing within the body.
Tamaflu is used to treat influenza, including H1N1 influenza (swine flu), in patients 1 year of age and older who have had symptoms for no more than two days. It may also be used to prevent influenza in patients one year of age and older. On average, Tamaflu reduces the duration of symptoms by one and a half days if treatment is started within forty-eight hours after symptoms begin.
Tamaflu side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bronchitis, abdominal pain, headache and dizziness.
