Brincidofovir may interfere with the immune response produced by smallpox and monkeypox vaccine. However, use of brincidofovir with vaccines such as smallpox and monkeypox vaccine has not been studied in humans. Your doctor should be informed of recent medication and vaccination history so that appropriate measures and/or precautions can be taken. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any other medications without first talking to your doctor.

Food may decrease the blood levels of brincidofovir. It is recommended that you take brincidofovir on an empty stomach, meaning no food should be eaten for at least two hours before or after taking brincidofovir. If necessary, you may take the oral tablets (but not the suspension formulation) with a low-fat meal. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
