Interactions between your drugs

Major

oxyCODONE naltrexone

Applies to: naltrexone / oxycodone, naltrexone / oxycodone

Using naltrexone together with oxyCODONE is not recommended. Naltrexone can block the effects of oxyCODONE and make the medication less effective in treating your condition. If you have been receiving oxyCODONE for a while (for example, a week or longer), naltrexone can also precipitate withdrawal symptoms. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Moderate

naproxen naltrexone

Applies to: Prevacid NapraPAC 375 (lansoprazole / naproxen), naltrexone / oxycodone

Naltrexone may cause liver problems, and using it with other medications that can also affect the liver such as naproxen may increase that risk. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications. Call your doctor immediately if you have fever, chills, joint pain or swelling, unusual bleeding or bruising, skin rash, itching, loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dark urine, pale stools, and/or yellowing of the skin or eyes, as these may be signs and symptoms of liver damage. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Moderate

naproxen lansoprazole

Applies to: Prevacid NapraPAC 375 (lansoprazole / naproxen), Prevacid NapraPAC 375 (lansoprazole / naproxen)

Talk to your doctor before using naproxen together with lansoprazole. Using these medications together may affect the enteric coating of naproxen, causing the medication to be released too early in the body. This can make naproxen less effective. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Drug and food interactions

Major

oxyCODONE food

Applies to: naltrexone / oxycodone

Do not use alcohol or medications that contain alcohol while you are receiving treatment with oxyCODONE. This may increase nervous system side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, difficulty concentrating, and impairment in thinking and judgment. In severe cases, low blood pressure, respiratory distress, fainting, coma, or even death may occur. You may also want to avoid or limit the consumption of grapefruit and grapefruit juice, which can significantly increase the blood levels of oxycodone in some people. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions on how to take this or other medications you are prescribed. Do not use more than the recommended dose of oxyCODONE, and avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medication affects you. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medication without first talking to your doctor.

naproxen food

Applies to: Prevacid NapraPAC 375 (lansoprazole / naproxen)

Ask your doctor before using naproxen together with ethanol. Do not drink alcohol while taking naproxen. Alcohol can increase your risk of stomach bleeding caused by naproxen. Call your doctor at once if you have symptoms of bleeding in your stomach or intestines. This includes black, bloody, or tarry stools, or coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
