- Betagan (levobunolol ophthalmic)
- Bevespi Aerosphere (formoterol / glycopyrrolate)
Interactions between your drugs
levobunolol ophthalmic formoterol
Applies to: Betagan (levobunolol ophthalmic), Bevespi Aerosphere (formoterol / glycopyrrolate)
Using levobunolol ophthalmic together with formoterol may reduce the benefits of both medications, since they have opposing effects in the body. In addition, levobunolol ophthalmic can sometimes cause narrowing of the airways, which may worsen your breathing problems or trigger severe asthmatic attacks. Levobunolol ophthalmic is normally not recommended if you have asthma, a history of asthma, or severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact or are less likely to interact. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
glycopyrrolate food
Applies to: Bevespi Aerosphere (formoterol / glycopyrrolate)
Ask your doctor before using glycopyrrolate together with ethanol. Use alcohol cautiously. Alcohol may increase drowsiness and dizziness while you are taking glycopyrrolate. You should be warned not to exceed recommended dosages and to avoid activities requiring mental alertness. If your doctor prescribes these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment to safely take this combination. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
