Edit list (add/remove drugs)

Interactions between your drugs

Moderate

selexipag pitolisant

Applies to: selexipag and pitolisant

MONITOR: Coadministration with pitolisant may reduce plasma concentrations of substrates of CYP450 2C, P-glycoprotein (P-gp), and uridine diphosphate glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs). Based on in vitro data, pitolisant and its main metabolites may induce CYP450 2C, P-gp, and UGTs. Clinical data are not available.

MANAGEMENT: Caution is recommended if pitolisant is used in combination with substrates of CYP450 2C, P-gp, and/or UGTs. Clinical and laboratory monitoring may be appropriate for some drugs whenever pitolisant is added to or withdrawn from therapy.

Drug and food interactions

Minor

selexipag food

Applies to: selexipag

Food prolongs the gastrointestinal absorption of selexipag. When taken with food, the time to peak concentration (Tmax) was delayed and peak plasma concentration (Cmax) was approximately 30% lower. Selexipag systemic exposure (AUC) and that of its active metabolite did not significantly change, however. Selexipag may be taken with or without food. Tolerability may be improved when taken with food.

Drug Interaction Classification

These classifications are only a guideline. The relevance of a particular drug interaction to a specific individual is difficult to determine. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting or stopping any medication.
Major Highly clinically significant. Avoid combinations; the risk of the interaction outweighs the benefit.
Moderate Moderately clinically significant. Usually avoid combinations; use it only under special circumstances.
Minor Minimally clinically significant. Minimize risk; assess risk and consider an alternative drug, take steps to circumvent the interaction risk and/or institute a monitoring plan.
Unknown No interaction information available.
