levobunolol ophthalmic pilocarpine ophthalmic

Applies to: levobunolol ophthalmic and Piloptic-4 (pilocarpine ophthalmic)

Limited data indicate that addition of pilocarpine to levobunolol eye drops significantly decreases ocular absorption of levobunolol. The ocular absorption of levobunolol is pH-dependent, and pilocarpine significantly buffers levobunolol ophthalmic solutions. At acidic pH, the ocular absorption of levobunolol in the presence of pilocarpine may be enhanced by the use of sulfosuccinates.
