Using magnesium oxide together with ferrous gluconate may decrease the effects of ferrous gluconate. Separate the administration of ferrous gluconate at least two hours apart from magnesium oxide. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications.
