One study has suggested that ephedrine may enhance the analgesic effects of morphine. The authors have reported that the addition of ephedrine produced analgesic effects that matched those of approximately double the dose of morphine--without morphine-induced respiratory depression. The clinical consequences of this potentially beneficial interaction have not been studied in large numbers of patients.
