Interactions between your drugs

Major

halothane landiolol

Applies to: halothane and Rapiblyk (landiolol)

MONITOR CLOSELY: The concomitant use of landiolol and inhaled anesthetics (e.g., isoflurane) may increase the risk of additive effects. Coadministration may potentiate the hypotensive effects of the inhaled anesthetic agent, potentially leading to additive effects on decreased heart rate, decreased blood pressure, and PR interval prolongation.

MANAGEMENT: Some authorities recommend careful titration of the landiolol infusion, dosage adjustment of either agent to achieve the desired effect, and close hemodynamic monitoring, if coadministration is clinically necessary (Canada). Consultation with package labeling and relevant institutional protocols may be advisable for further guidance.

Major Highly clinically significant. Avoid combinations; the risk of the interaction outweighs the benefit.
Moderate Moderately clinically significant. Usually avoid combinations; use it only under special circumstances.
Minor Minimally clinically significant. Minimize risk; assess risk and consider an alternative drug, take steps to circumvent the interaction risk and/or institute a monitoring plan.
Unknown No interaction information available.
