Using pegloticase together with febuxostat is not recommended. Treatment with pegloticase requires monitoring of uric acid levels in the blood to reduce the risk of side effects such as allergic and infusion reactions, and febuxostat can interfere with the monitoring. You should stop taking febuxostat before your doctor begin treatment with pegloticase, and avoid taking it until the infusion is complete.
