Drug Interactions between encorafenib and gepirone
This report displays the potential drug interactions for the following 2 drugs:
- encorafenib
- gepirone
Interactions between your drugs
encorafenib gepirone
Applies to: encorafenib and gepirone
Using gepirone together with encorafenib may significantly reduce the blood levels and effects of gepirone. Certain agents used in combination with gepirone may potentiate some of its more serious, but less common side effects such as serotonin syndrome or a change in the electrical activity of your heart called QT prolongation. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of the following signs or symptoms of these potentially life-threatening side effects: irregular or fast heartbeat, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, agitation, confusion, sweating, flushing, changes in blood pressure, seizures, hallucinations, or a loss of coordination. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
encorafenib food
Applies to: encorafenib
You should preferably avoid consumption of grapefruit and grapefruit juice while taking encorafenib. Grapefruit and grapefruit juice can significantly increase the blood levels of encorafenib. This may increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding complications, eye and vision problems, liver problems, irregular heart rhythm, and development of new skin cancers. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
gepirone food
Applies to: gepirone
Food helps with the absorption of gepirone into the blood stream. You should take this medication with food at about the same time every day. You should not consume grapefruit or grapefruit products while taking this medication as they can increase the blood levels of gepirone in your body, putting you at a higher risk of serious side effects like serotonin syndrome or a change in the electrical activity of your heart called QT prolongation. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions on how to take this or other medications you are prescribed. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
