- nebivolol/valsartan
Interactions between your drugs
valsartan nebivolol
Applies to: nebivolol / valsartan and nebivolol / valsartan
If you are receiving valsartan and nebivolol together with a medication called an ACE inhibitor, you should talk to your doctor to make sure this treatment is appropriate for your condition. When used in the treatment of heart failure, this three drug combination has been associated with increased side effects and an increased rate of death. The reason for this is not clear. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
valsartan eltrombopag
Applies to: nebivolol / valsartan and eltrombopag
Eltrombopag may increase the blood levels and effects of valsartan. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. Contact your doctor if your condition changes or you experience increased side effects. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
valsartan food
Applies to: nebivolol / valsartan
If you are taking valsartan you should avoid potassium-containing salt substitutes or over-the-counter potassium supplements without first talking to your doctor. This can cause high levels of potassium in your blood. High levels of potassium can cause weakness, irregular heartbeat, confusion, tingling of the extremities, or feelings of heaviness in the legs. Call your doctor at once if you have any of these symptoms.
eltrombopag food
Applies to: eltrombopag
Food may reduce the absorption and blood levels of eltrombopag. In addition, minerals such as aluminum, calcium, iron, magnesium, and zinc can also interfere with eltrombopag absorption into the bloodstream, which may make the medication less effective in treating your condition. You should take eltrombopag on an empty stomach one hour before or two hours after a meal. Eltrombopag should also be taken at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after products like antacids, mineral supplements, dairy products, and fortified juices. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions on how to take this or other medications you are prescribed. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
