Drug Interactions between Effexor XR and larotrectinib

Alcohol can increase the nervous system side effects of venlafaxine such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience impairment in thinking and judgment. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with venlafaxine. Do not use more than the recommended dose of venlafaxine, and avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medication affects you. Grapefruit juice can increase the blood levels of larotrectinib. This may increase the risk and/or severity of side effects such as dizziness, confusion, coordination problems, memory problems, liver problems, and tingling, numbness or burning in the hands and feet. You should avoid the consumption of grapefruit and grapefruit juice during treatment with larotrectinib. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions on this or other medications you are prescribed.
