Drug Interactions between dolasetron and rifabutin
This report displays the potential drug interactions for the following 2 drugs:
- dolasetron
- rifabutin
Interactions between your drugs
rifabutin dolasetron
Applies to: rifabutin and dolasetron
Blood levels of hydrodolasetron, the major active metabolite of dolasetron, were decreased 28% when dolasetron was given concomitantly for seven days with rifampin. The mechanism is thought to be induction of the metabolism of hydrodolasetron by rifampin via cytochrome P450 enzymes. The clinician may consider monitoring the patient more closely for decreased dolasetron effect if this combination is used. A similar interaction may occur with rifabutin, however, data are lacking.
