Using aspirin together with bismuth subsalicylate is generally not recommended. Combining these medications may increase the risk of side effects in the gastrointestinal tract such as inflammation, pain, bleeding, and ulceration. Bruising and other bleeding complications may also occur. You should take these medications with food to lessen gastrointestinal side effects.
